Just as the blind man from birth as for the Glory 0f God. What if he actually is the Son of Perdition? What does this action tell us about our God? Knowing Judas was about to betray Him the Lord made this offer to Judas before the Passover Seder resumed with the Cup of Redemption. Judas never drank of that cup. it is important to know it was with this Cup of Redemption that became our Lord's Supper or Communion

Hi Zao, I am not sure if it is capitalized in some translations unfortunately none of mine do but they should. The Son of Perdition is a title of anti-Christ. Perdition is the opposite of Salvation it speaks of a hopeless eternity of judgment and death. The title is no used for anyone other than anti-Christ and yet the Lord called Judas this that night. Son of perdition can be found in John 17: 11- 13 or 2 Thess. 2: 2-4. The Lord is the Son of Life.

I find this even more anti-Christ is also the in John 8: 44 speaks of Satan being the Father of the Lie Just as we are told Christ, God is the Father of the Jesus Christ. the Lord is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Satan is not just the oppose of God he counterfeits God with most of that counterfeiting done by anti-Christ counterfeiting the Christ, The two Seeds spoken of in the Garden of Eden Satan the son and God the Son. The promise of the Christ destroying anti-Christ is about to be come a reality.

That’s exactly what satan has always done is counterfeit. You should always study the real and not the counterfeit. When I was volunteering at the auxiliary police part of the training was to study real money so the counterfeits are easy to spot.
John said there are anti-christs at that time after Judas met his demise. That could mean that they expected another that was to come as well as one future. In that sense it could be an imitation of one of the three aspects of was/is/is to come, but it wouldn’t include all frog/prince/forget the other one, of the future anti-christ.

Hi carl, but only one is called The Son of Perdition. The anti-Christs are the disciples of the devil who we see all around the world. But Scripture tells us there is only one, hate to use this, true Anti-Christ. This is the one spoken of in the Garden who would bruise His heel and get His head crushed. The greatest battle there will ever be never to be equaled or exceeded.

Personally I view Judas as a somewhat pitiful figure not displaying the power of Satan to any great extent. agreed, but it is still intriguing that it would show the depth of His Love and Mercy seeking to give Satan that final chance. The Sop was a great honor. I just believe He really does, has and will seek every lost sheep. It brings a little clarity to the feed your enemy care for him and so forth. I really believe He walked the walk. There are many theories of 666 and ome of them: It is a number or word that people used when they talked about the roman emperor, during the Roman empire. Not wanting to get into trouble for talking or ranting about the emperor, they use a number /nickname. For Nero, it was 666. Revelation says it the number of a human being.

As for Judas, many Christians ask why did Jesus choose him even though He knew that he was the betrayer?
Some think that God caused Judas to betray in order to fulfill prophecy, which would be unfair. I offer the following explanation :

Judas would have betrayed the Lord even if he was not one of the 12 disciples. He would have spied on Jesus and reported to the authorities even if he was just one of the thousands of people who followed Jesus.

When the religious establishment plotted to kill Jesus, they offered a reward. Several people were tempted but they were afraid of the consequence upon themselves and family if they betrayed a teacher and miracle healer, whom so many followed. Judas would be the one who decided to go ahead.

Anyone who wanted to betray the Lord could have followed Jesus and reported His presence at the opportuned time. A large crowd greeted Jesus when He arrived at Jerusalem so it was easy to know that He and disciples were in the proximity. The opportuned time would be an hour when the crowd was not around, otherwise an arrest in broad daylight would cause a riot. Anyone who dare to betray jesus could have keep an eye on where He was. Without Judas, someone else would have done it. But it was Judas who had planned to do so.

So why did Jesus choose Judas as disciple even though He knew? First reason is unconditional love, and second is damage control. If Judas was not with the twelve, he might have carried out his wilful act not according to God's timing. It is easier to manage Judas when he was around, instead of letting him be out there doing whatever he wanted at any time he chose.
