Hi there,
I've recently fallen away from a Christian belief. Partly due to other Christians and partly because I have re-examined my beliefs. I had been a Christian for 30ish years, and have now decided that there isn't enough evidence, as far as I can see, that a God exists.

God said in His Word that He gave you the evidence sir; and He places the blame on those who won't acknowledge that evidence and follow through on it to worship Him as He deems acceptable. Turn now and obey the Truth or be reproved by God before all as a condemned liar when all the evidence is laid out on Judgment Day.

Romans 1:18-21: "18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."

Psalm 50:21-23: "21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God."

Sorry to hear your story. It's common enough. Lord Jesus said that this day would come. You are standing on the proof of God's existence. You see it every time you look in the mirror or up at the stars. If all you had was an intellectual assent to what you thought Christianity is, your change of attitude is understandable. The world system is controlled by Satan and he blinds the eyes of those who are perishing, people like you. You never did know God. if you did, nothing could convince you that He is not real. It's not too late. You are still breathing. Ask God to reveal Himself to you. Nicely, please. You'll get no response if you are arrogant and aggressive. The finest Christian I knew was going through hell due to terrible circumstances. He asked God, "If you are real, please help me". And God did.

Don't attribute the existence of God to the faulty character of humans.

Life as a Christian has been one bad experience after another. Starting with my getting mental health problems.

Consider yourself lucky. Jesus said the life of a Christian will be hard, even to the point of persecution and death. Whoever perseveres to the end, the same shall be saved.
Don't give up, and don't let bad Christians bring you down.
Instead, you be the light and they will see Jesus in you, and they will follow.

I'm saying, asking for a sign for God's existence won't work. Especially not in this generation.

I maybe missing what is going on in this forum as being the substance that has caused you to fall away being jumped on by some. Restore each other with gentleness and meekness that we not become ensnared ourselves. We don’t seem to understand that we are referred to as a Body, the Body of Christ. When a literal body is infected or injured the parts of the body that rally against those invasions do not take us to task, place guilt on us they seek to heal. When I was a young Christian I became disillusioned by a number of events and incidents with well meaning, I believe, people who have not heard the good news that love does no harm. For some who maybe young Christians, even if they have been around as a Christian along time may have never read in Scripture how to deal with the weaker brother or sister. Please don’t stop your relationship because of His people. The Lord does not force His people to love or anything else, maybe a few big fish would do wonders in getting our attention. He loves you but this is the time we live by faith and not by sight. The Lord for now is acting behind the scenes as in the Book of Esther. From behind the curtain separating the seen from the unseen He is working all things for good. Hang on because I always feel if He did speak to us He would as told the prophet He had 7,000 who had kept things right. I trust He has many out there who would love to be better Christians both to our Lord and to their fellowman.

Lord your sheep is under attack and He needs the Good Shepherd to find them and bring them back into your flock. Please bring into all our lives two other people who can and will be loving and supporting. Two other people to form a cord of three which is not easily broken. You Lord have all we need and I ask you to move in this life in a manner that leaves no doubt that you are in the shadows doing for us what you did for Esther. I ask your great faithfulness and love and for your glory these things are asked in your Holy Sons name. Amen
