Another, like my old-fashioned mom, is that wearing makeup is a basic etiquette, you cover your skin flaws in consideration of the viewer so they won't experience unpleasant feelings looking at them.

I am wondering what is the limit of what you could wear in public. For example, some people wear pajama pants on the weekend to grocery stores. That's their personal choice, but I myself could not go that far. But I do still wear gym clothes/ yoga pants in public (as opposed to the opinion on the video below).

What is your beauty standard?
Being healthy, dyed hair, tattoos and piercings are okay since they don't define everything, dressing oneself according to their personality and situation (ofc NOT wearing PJs to work or a wedding party)

The most important point: be individual and don't just copy whatever it's popular right now, also I have a problem with fast fashion both due to poor quality and environmental reasons.

What does healthy mean in your opinion?
Within healthy BMI range without starving oneself and having a balanced diet, no matter you're omnivore, vegetarian or vegan (there're a plenty of plant based protein products out there)

Where are you struggling?
Being too "unchristian" appearance wise and being told I'm too "cool" to be Christian. My current style is quite hippie like and sometimes punk-ish, especially on the natural gem part which many more "traditional" Christians say crystals are "satanic". Personally I don't believe in any kind of magic powers and I just see them as... some pretty stuff.

For me, my beauty standard has been a struggle for a long time.
I'm considered extreme obese by most standards and having PCOS, that tends to make losing weight difficult. This also comes with a lot of physical issues.
The idea of losing weight for awhile was a struggle for me, as I know a lot of Christian women who talk about their concerns with their weight loss efforts in relation to the sin of vanity. This had me checking my motives constantly and being riddled with guilt.
A couple months ago, that changed for me. God opened my heart to see that the real problem isn't my vanity, but the sin that got me to the weight that I am now. I'm a binge eater. I've spent years allowing gluttony to take control. I was lazy and didn't exercise as I should. I was lethargic and not practicing self control. This all turned me into what I was when I was worrying about my vanity. My weight was such a huge problem that my husband was concerned about my health and was considering not having another child after our second was born.
The weight loss is coming and my health is coming back now, and vanity is still not a concern for me. I'm looking more in areas I'm failing to care for my body as God intended. As far as my standard of beauty for myself, I always look to my husband for that. I look to catch his attention and captivate him when he sees me. If it gets the attention of anyone else, I reconsider the look. So far, at a little over halfway to my weight loss goal (57 out of 110 pounds!), I can say that his worries over me are far fewer than they were back in June.

My beauty standard is pretty simple: keep up hygiene, wear something other than old beat-up clothes, simply be serious about a healthy lifestyle, and not be in to tattoos. But in this generation, that's a bit much to ask for.

I'm a bit obsessed with eyes, but I guess this is personal. I will find beautiful a healthy, athletic person who looks people in the eyes, talk calmly with an assured voice. Voice matters a lot when it comes to beauty to me, just as accents. Of course hygiene. Clothes do matter a lot too (I honestly think a shirt for a male, or a nice top for a female make all the difference). Bright, clever eyes, kind & opening smile.

For a female, a very discreet make-up (eyes again, not fond of lipsticks or mostly skin make-up), simple but fancy clothes, a calm & prudent attitude.
For a male, pretty much the same but without the make-up and yes, athletic body. And I seem to like more high and prominent cheekbones. But this has nothing especially christian, just personal taste.

I like men who are considered traditionally handsome by Western standards: proportioned features, Roman nose, chiseled jaw, preferably bearded. Basically your Tyrone Power or Matthew McConaughey types.

I tend to ignore beauty standards for women as this has been such a stumbling block through the ages, particularly for our gender. I'm very nerdy and tomboyish by nature, so I never attract unwanted male attention anyway; it's not like I need to worry about it.

I really liked the philosophy of Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty.

But I do struggle with self-consciousness as in certain social groups, there are unsaid expectations on how to dress/ look.

Some of us have Scars and physical disabilities. Besides aren't we supposed to put the flesh to death?
I see nothing wrong with daily hygiene and a little make up. Nothing wrong with that.
But it's so Much better to be that Proverbs 31 woman.
Thank God! Jesus won't look and say. "Wow you can't get into heaven you're ugly you need a beauty pass." Like it was some disco club.
No way! It's about the heart! And a pure spirit! That is what makes one beautiful/handsome. Again, it's good to be Clean and respectful of yourself.
