But, not really. The UK brought the slaves into the US and the Declaration of Independence declared it to the world as a horrible evil. The US forbid slavery from its founding in most of the country, including all new territories and then finally eliminated it altogether within the first century of the nation's existence.

UK does not have the natural mineral resources and has a lot of embedded people and entanglements. Countries like that with lots of people are mostly for conquering or being conquered if other nations are involved in taking over, not being bought and sold. I know its a joke thread.

Sorry this post doesn't seem to connect, the reason is I was being too polite for a politics post and ended up being too obscure instead.

It is a response to the post above stating 'UK does not have the natural mineral resources', it is those non existent resources that allow the UK to run a deficit for decades on end, it is overall negative back to 1986 and just mixed before that.

It might have been fear of losing those resources that drove some of the population to vote Brexit. The resource is the North Sea oil and gas which has been recently found to also extend under the mainland as well.
