Pray for safety and freedom - we need help.

3+ years ago I fled with my children from a very abusive relationship. The abuse was emotional and physical, particularly when I was pregnant, and my oldest child was witness.


Now the father has found us and is contesting custody. The laws are such that if he has not physically harmed the children, he has rights to visitation.


This man is not a follower of Christ. He has abused many women. He drinks excessively, he uses and creates inappropriate contentography, he uses and sells illegal drugs.


I am so afraid for my little one who does not even know him. I believe that God is bigger than the laws. I believe that a miracle can occur to remove this person from our lives completely. I am asking for prayers to this end. I do not believe that God wishes for us to be subject to this. Please pray for the judge to find favor with us, to hear and believe all of the testimony and evidence we will bring. And then also pray that this man will just be removed from our lives after that.

Find yourself a good attorney. Request a court order restraining him from contacting you. If there is any evidence of abuse, (even the testimony of your oldest child) that should be granted.

It will go a long way toward keeping him from getting custody.

The lawyer should be able to guide you thru the specifics in your state.

Thank you, it's been 3+ years, so that's not an option. In fact, I would be penalized for not communicating with him at this time. The laws are on his side where the child is concerned, believe it or not. I do plan to have my oldest child testify, but my attorney doesn't expect any of our history to make much difference in him having access to our child because it was so long ago.

Jesus, thank you that Mara and her children were able to escape in the first place years ago. Thank you that You have been with them through all that time - protecting and guiding them.

Lord, you protect the widow and the orphan. You are the shield of the needy! Jesus, please be a Mighty Warrior for Mara's family. Please bring her permanent and legal relief from the monster that wants to get back into her life and the lives of her children. Jesus, please, please intervene and turn this around. You know this man would only bring pain and sorrow and destruction if he is allowed to. God, please deliver your children. Thank you that you love us and hear us, and that these prayers are not in vain. Amen.

Their Safety Plan page mentions providing support to those who have already left an abusive relationship.
