Once again, I would really be grateful to anyone's prayers here. Where to start...my prayer request is largely for my family. My family is really struggling financially. Please pray that God would lift this financial burden from my parents.

My eldest sister is deeply wounded and broken. She is a Christian, but she has been terribly wounded in her life by things she doesn't speak to anyone about. It's becoming clear how truly badly wounded she is, and I don't believe that anyone can help her but God. Please pray for God to touch her and heal her wounds and brokenness. I am very sad about this, and I don't know what to do other than pray. My mom is very depressed and grieved right now about my sister. Please pray that God would comfort my mom in all that she's going through.

I'm worried about my brother. He's like my best friend, but he's going through some things that he won't tell me about. I am not one to push, but I am sad to know that he is going through things that clearly are hurting him. Please pray that God would help him and bring him closer to God. Finally, please pray for my family overall. I often feel helpless about my family's problems, of which we have many. I struggle with self-hate. I want to get a job to support my parents. Please pray that I would be able to be a support and help to my family. I know this is a LOT, so thank you so much if you have read through and thank you deeply for your prayers. Be blessed all! Thank you. :)

One of the most destructive problems we can have is unforgiveness. Wounded people are almost always unforgiving and that locks in the wounds. When we hate ourselves, we need to know how to forgive ourselves. I confess to being an expert at self-loathing. I've learned that I have to forgive myself and love myself before I can have a proper relationship with God and the brethren. I am no longer introspective. The person I loathe and despise was crucified with Christ. He is dead and buried. I am a new creation, since Lord Jesus included me in His resurrection. I am acceptable to God in the Beloved. No room for self hatred now!

If you just can't forgive yourself/others, there is an answer for that too. Ask Jesus to forgive for you, on your behalf. Express your willingness and confess your inability. It works. I had a messy divorce and I did not see my children for 15 years, not by choice. I could not forgive, but Lord Jesus did it for me and I received the relief in my heart. If you need more help on this, I can direct you to a website that explains it in great detail. We'll pray for you, of course.

Praying for you and your family. The best thing you can do for your family is seek the Lord wholeheartedly and draw as near to Him as possible yourself. Between the intervention of God among your family and the wisdom you might obtain to minister to them through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, there is certainly hope that the Lord's healing and restoration might be known.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
Psalm 23:3-4: "He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
1 Peter 3:10-12 "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."
James 5:16b "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Thank you. That is good advice. I am realizing that my self-hate is a problem and is sinful. I would like to change and to be forgiving toward myself and others too. I will take your advice and ask God to forgive me for my unforgiveness. I know that my self hate isn't in line with who God says I am and who I am in Christ, so I want to turn away from this. Thank you for sharing, I'm glad that Jesus broke through for you and gave you the relief and peace you needed. Yes, thank you, I would love to learn more if you wouldn't mind sharing the website. Thank you very much!

Thank you. This sounds like some of the best advice ever, to draw near to God. I felt that God has been telling me to seek Him more, and I want to actively do more to seek Him in prayer, in walking with Him with all my heart, and letting His word fill my heart and mind. Do you have any advice for things I can do to draw nearer to God? I have set aside a time to read my bible and pray every night, and I have followed this for months now, but I want to grow closer. I really long to be closer to God and to walk with Christ. Thank you so much for your response and those verses; I will save those verses down.

I've gone through a lot in my life. One time I even asked God to let me die, but I've never been suicidal because I knew God didn't want me to do that and I didn't want to stress my family members.. I feel for your sister. She most likely is depressed rather than unforgiving. All the hard times I've encountered built a stronger faith in me. God said,

10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."(Isaiah 41:10)

If a person is very depressed, it can be hard to trust God. But it's the time to plead for His help. Isaiah 41:10 is true.

I will be praying for you and your family.

For one you want to make sure you're doing all you can to shun things that are contrary to Him. And you want to make sure you honestly consider practical ways to apply what you learn in Scripture and follow through with them. Those things are aspects of making the most out of your time in prayer and in Bible reading. It's easy to make praying and reading the Bible a mere ritual, but when we strive to really pray and to really learn about God in Scripture that we might have understand His ways, have confidence in Him, and learn to do what is pleasing to Him then our devotion time will really be profitable. And as we use the knowledge and ability we have faithfully, more will be given to us. It's important to not despise the day of small beginnings and to also persevere through the days when things just don't seem to be working out, because they will almost certainly come. But God is faithful and really seeking Him ALWAYS turns out to be profitable when we persevere in doing so.

Proverbs 23:17-18 "Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off."

Acts 11:22-23 "Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord."

James 1:26-27 "If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

What helps me is sitting in my back yard, and taking time out to pray. Just me, trees, wild bunnies, and God. It's helpful, and restful. Prayers for your family.

Thank you for your prayers. :) That's a good idea. That sounds very nice. I feel closer to God in nature too. I really feel His hand in the art He made in nature. Thanks for the idea!
