More than half of Americans say Trump is racist, including 80% of African-Americans, a new poll found

Interesting poll - I don't think it surprises too many, but I didn't realize the numbers were so extreme.
  • Just over half of the US says President Donald Trump is racist, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.
  • This poll, conducted July 25 to 28 and released Tuesday, came as Trump continues to face widespread criticism over tweets attacking lawmakers of color.
  • There's a stark divide on this issue along both partisan and racial lines.
  • 46% of white people said Trump is racist, compared to 80% of black people, the poll found.
  • Meanwhile, the poll showed 91% of Republicans believe Trump is not racist, compared to 86% of Democrats who say he is.

Maybe we are all capable of racism and need to fight it within ourselves. What is it that they say in those twelve step programs, the first step is to recognize you have a problem. Fear fuels it.

Figures lie and liars figure. IMHO polls only reflect the biases of the people conducting the poll.
Democrats have demonstrated their hatred of Trump from day one. The abysmal failure of the Democrat instigated 2 year Russian collusion "investigation" is ample evidence of that.

I’m capable of murder. But I don’t need to fight it.

Oh come on Trump has been fined in the past due to his racist policies in NYC . He’s racist ,he says racist things , he does racist things and frankly I think he’s a danger to this country. he’s made abusive concentration camps acceptable and that alone should never have been allowed . Jaywalking across the border shouldn’t endanger you by abuse . This is ridiculous

Well...since the Republicans made the head birther the face of their Party it's sort of hard to see why they should complain about "You never liked him from the start!" he literally built his political career on people hating the Democrats. It got him elected. So let's see if hating the majority of Americans can get him re-elected?
tulc(finds the whole "why didn't they like him from the beginning?" question to be pretty ironic) :sorry:

Evidence?
He’s racist ,he says racist things , he does racist things and frankly I think he’s a danger to this country.
Such as? If this is true why does he have so many black people supporting him? It is not racist to tell a Muslim member of congress who openly hates this country if she doesn't like it leave.

he’s made abusive concentration camps acceptable and that alone should never have been allowed .
Rubbish. Are you talking about the detention camps Obama had built and used?
Jaywalking across the border shouldn’t endanger you by abuse . This is ridiculous
More rubbish. This type of unsupported hate speech is ridiculous.

I remember when Trump wanted a Black evicted from his building because the Black didn't want to pay. Trump was called Racist for not letting the Black have a free ride.

We are being dishonest for just using the Racist Card because it makes us feel good to do so.

The issue that Trump, and his dad, were charged for was about racial profiling of tenants pre-lease agreement. Any people of colour were filtered out.

. A Muslim member of Congress who “Openly hates this country”? Versus A president who thinks racist neo nazis are good people .

I’m
black and I live in a mainly Hispanic neighbourhood ina sanctuary city. I see ICE policies on people I know sometimes. I see fellow humans being mistreated for the horrific crime :rolleyes:of essentially jaywalking across the imaginary line we call a border.

Some black people supported segregation too back in the dayEven being educated or intelligent doesn’t stop you from believing in a delusion sometimes

You have a link to that? Because I have this link that doesn't mention that, it talks about them being sued for housing discrimination:
Decades-Old Housing Discrimination Case Plagues Donald Trump

The Justice Department sued Donald Trump, his father, Fred, and Trump Management in order to obtain a settlement in which Trump and his father would promise not to discriminate. The case eventually was settled two years later after Trump tried to countersue the Justice Department for $100 million for making false statements. Those allegations were dismissed by the court.

We are being dishonest for just using the Racist Card because it makes us feel good to do so.
Or some people are so unwilling to admit they're supporting a racist that no evidence will be believed/accepted just so they can keep on supporting him?
tulc(suspects that would explain the continued support in spite of all the evidence to contrary) :sorry:

Tulc I think it has to do a lot with knowing our US political recent history. The Democrats are using the term “racist” as freely as Joe McCarthy and his followers used “Reds” and “Communists” in the 1950s. Back then you were labeled a Communist and had to prove you were not. They used very flimsy tangential evidence for some people based on who they kept company with or donated to.

...or someone being sued/shown by the government because they were shown to have a discriminatory rental practice to keep African-American people from renting from them? That sort of "flimsy evidence"?
tulc(might also point out that, ironically, President Trumps lawyer in that particular case was Roy Cohn Roy Cohn: Joe McCarthy's henchman and Donald Trump's mentor )
