I have learned much about cooking from James Townsend and Kent Rollins, particularly about cast iron cooking. Both have YouTube channels. The other big one: don't spice scrambled eggs too early (particularly when you are whipping them). And to cook a good steak, don't throw it on the grill or in the skillet cold, let it sit on the counter for a while and get close to room temperature.

Townsend specializes in colonial era cooking. Most of the recipes are quite simple. He's a lot of fun. Kent Rollins is a specialist in comfort food and grilling. He changed the way I make white gravy and it is better.

best cooking tips you have ever received?

Mixing coconut oil with butter or vegetable oil for frying ... allows to cook longer without over cooking breadings etc. (ie over browning)

also, good grade non-stick pans (not teflon), use less oil and much easier to clean.
