The Good Book got good news from the Trump administration today: America’s Bibles—most of which are printed in China and imported to the United States—are now exempt from the burgeoning trade war between the two nations.
With a 10-percent hike on $300 billion worth of Chinese goods looming next month, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) posted two long lists of items: one of imports from China that will become subject to tariffs on September 1, and one of imports whose proposed tariffs will now be delayed until December 15.
It also noted that “certain products are being removed from the tariff list based on health, safety, national security, and other factors.”

Missing from both lists: Bibles. [Continues: Bibles Escape Trump’s Tariff Fight with China

It's amazing how many Bibles are published in China. A predominantly atheist country at that.
This is very good news indeed.

I'm not sure it will result in much good news, once the enemies of the Gospel mobilize to decry the the inequity of the situation.
That's a wait and see for sure.

The country that prints our Bibles is China, a nation that imprisons and shuts down non government-approved churches? How sad.
What's sad is that we have to outsource that job so that we can afford the more important things in life like fancy clothes, the latest gadgets, endless entertainment, designer chow, and recreational equipment.

Aren't we glad that the state is picking and choosing what businesses should or shouldn't import?

"Since China’s only legal printer of Bibles, Amity Printing Company, published its first Bible in cooperation with the United Bible Societies (UBS) in 1987, 117 million Bibles have followed. More than half of those were printed in the last six years, including 12.4 million in 2013, making China the world’s biggest Bible publisher. Three out of four of last year’s Bibles were produced for export."
Excerpted from the Christianity Today article linked above.

That's not what 'we' have done. The "Outsourcer In Chief" president Bill Clinton did this.

Sorry, I can't afford to blame big business and "big brother" for my greed, and lust for luxury. I know what I am.

And you speak for yourself as an SDA? That's sad.
However, what you are doesn't alter what policy is. And your greed for luxury has nothing to do with Outsourcing.

I am not "an SDA." I am a Seventh-day Adventist. And I find nothing but joy in that fact. I am also a sinner, and yet I will not lie and say I have done everything I can to conquer and deny myself unnecessary luxuries. I have added to the sufferings of Christ at Calvary by my selfishness. I am certainly no better than the Great Apostle, who considered himself the chief of sinners. Am I alone?

Yes, since you're pointing your question at me.
And your profile block refers to you as SDA.
I'm a Christian, and no longer a sinner. I was saved from my sins by the grace of God through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. When a Christian is redeemed by the blood of Jesus all their sins are cast under the blood. And as God tells us, God remembers them no more.

What Does the Bible Say About Your Sins I Will Remember No More?

God is not a man that he would lie. Numbers 23:19

Sorry. "SDA" is the only option I have to avoid denying my faith. I see you have overcome sin. You are no longer a sinner. My congratulations to you. I will leave you to your folly, then.
