I'm not a footy fan. As far as that goes, I don't watch sport generally, although I play Masters Hockey (bunch of old blokes chasing after a ball with sticks). I'll play sport but I don't watch it much.
But just for the sake of the post, our Australian team got beaten by the All Blacks 27-7 at Eden Park in Auckland. It seems we haven't won a game at that venue since 1986.
But then I read a New Zealander who later joined the British SAS saying that Rugby Union is more of a religion in New Zealand than a sport, with quarter neither asked nor given. Two blokes might be the best of mates, but only until they ran onto the football field.
One of the chaps I play with or against now and again in Masters Hockey lived in Kiwiland for a few years. He played ice hockey while he was there. He said if you happened to knock over a Maori player, they came up swinging. They're a warrior race, and very strongly built.
