Who is responsible for our sanctification?

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
— Romans 8:29

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
— Philippians 2:12-13

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.
— 1 Corinthians 15:10

Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
— Hebrews 13:20-21

Well, God is responsible on paper, but if you join a church .. it then becomes responsible somehow replacing the Holy Spirit magically. ;)

We are. We can either choose to cooperate with God's grace toward our sanctification or choose not to.

That seems to contradict the verses in the OP.

I was thinking of that verse recently, and then this one too.

Psalm 16:10-11 New King James Version (NKJV)
10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
11 You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

In God's presence is fullness of Joy, that was the Joy set before Christ, that He would be going back to the Father to sit at His right hand. That is where true pleasures are forevermore, with God.

The Holy Spirit and me.

Sanctification is a process that can be very rough at times, yet rewarding after a good repentance.

I disagree that we are responsible. We cannot transform ourselves. We cannot conform ourselves to Christ. Any good we do is because of Christ (Galatians 2:20).

Ultimately the Holy Spirit, are you wondering what our role is individually and collectively?

Nope. Just looking to start a discussion. So many folks think that salvation can be lost. But if sanctification is God’s responsibility, then that is impossible.

Well salvation can be God's sole responsibility, the inevietable destination of every single one of the elect (believers, justified, born again) and still require participation. If you were my Dad, you bought me a car I never drove, wouldn't you be puzzled?

Sanctification is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. You get a big bucket of blue love, joy, peace...in this veil of tears and never use it? What kind of salvation is that? No where does the New Testament are we warned your going to lose salvation if you don't watch out. You are told to walk according to the Spirit (Rom. 8:1- ...I don't know all of them.)

Why does salvation have to see like digging ditches in the rain? It's walking according to the power of the Holy Spirit, not the prince of the power of the air.

Jesus found me, he introduced me to the Holy Spirit, I've never spent a day alone since. I guess I could be more diligent about my spiritually, vut he had never threarened to toss me out of Christ, not that his disappeoval is any picnic.
