Recent Shootings Spur Pastors to Call Out White Supremacy
With two mass shootings making national news over the weekend, responses from evangelical leaders shifted from mourning the tragic events to naming the evil blamed for recent attacks.

Several pastors spoke up to decry the racism and white supremacy that, according to an online manifesto, motivated a gunman to attack a Walmart in the border city of El Paso, Texas, killing 20 people and injuring 26 more on Saturday. That night, another mass shooting took place at a bar in Dayton, Ohio, though authorities have not determined a motive.

They are detention centers not concentration camps.

Definition:

detention center
/dəˈten(t)SHən,dēˈten(t)SHən ˈsen(t)ər/
noun
plural noun: detention centers
  1. an institution where people are held in detention for short periods, in particular illegal immigrants, refugees, people awaiting trial or sentence, or youthful offenders.

Well you're wrong, but what on earth has that got to do with this thread or my post? Smh.

They should be proclaiming the gospel. Moralism doesn’t save anyone.
Calling out white supremacy is not moralism. Complaints about calling out white supremacy in the wake of a terrorist attack signals some rather misplaced priorities.

The priority is God glorified by the proclamation of the gospel. The salvation of [insert group/person you disagree with] is a good thing.

To be clear, you are discouraging people from condemning racism by employing "don't judge others"ism.

Now there's a load of old toss.

No. I’m saying that if they have this audience, they should preach the gospel.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

Preaching the gospel and the need for salvation is #1.
But so aiding others to a more Godly life. Pointing out that white nationalism is not showing love to all of God's creation can hinder that walk. God does love non-whites just as much.
It is the role of a pastor to teach I Cor. 13.

That’s the law. That’s what believers do as believers. Otherwise, it’s just moralism.

I don't think it is just moralism. Christianity is a lifelong walk, a race as Paul described. Part of the role of a minister is to help Christians to a closer walk with God. Viewpoints like white nationalism, or of dislike of certain ethnic groups (after all most Hispanics are white) get in the way.

From the article:

“As president of @SWBTS, I want to be clear that we condemn in the strongest possible form any and all ideologies of racial/ethnic superiority/inferiority that fuel the kind of hate evidently motivating the #ElPaso shooter to commit such a horrific act of violence in our state,” tweeted Adam Greenway, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

Multiple Southern Baptist leaders echoed Greenway’s remarks, and others—including leaders like Denny Burk and Andrew Walker—shared a National Review editorial that targeted white supremacy as the root cause of America’s mass shooting problem:......
White supremacy promotes hate - and that is a direct contrast to Christ. Pastors have the role of guiding Christians to a more Christ-like life.
I think many fall short of that.

That’s what the gospel does. When you say that you have to do this or that, it’s the law.

I disagree with you. A Christian who truly allows the Holy Spirit to work in their life while ignoring the temptations of the world - like thinking their race is better than another - should come to a perfect understanding of God and a more perfect lifestyle. Too many Christians fall short however.

Amen

Matthew 22:36-39

36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"
37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
Yeah.
Basically.

I’m glad they spoke up. But agree...The Gospel is the best response to evil.

Ephesians 6: NASB

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,15and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
