This a small good bye thread from me as I decided to withdraw from CF. (update: i still come as a visitor, feel free to DM me if you want)

I would say, I'm very glad that I found CF in the first place back in 2016 when I was spiritually breaking down and I have to say that a lot of the members in CF helped in my spiritual growth through the love they showed.

I'm withdrawing now as CF doesn't feel like home to me anymore. I don't feel comfortable here and I don't clearly see the CF of 2016 but I still see a lot of light in here. I will visit from time to time to check on the inbox though.

A small message from me to you all is: Never let anyone dictate or disrespect you. Never let anyone abuse you. And never let anyone shake your faith and commitment to God through their actions towards you. Even if the whole world turns against you. God won't. And hence, do the same to others!

Finally, defend the defenceless as much as you can. Never underestimate your potential, even if you are 1 against a million attacking one person. Your help to that one person will certainly make a difference for them. But remember to keep an open eye to all those that come across your way because not everyone is genuinely trustworthy even if they appear to be at first. Let time judge and accept God's clear signs.

Care primarily for those who invested in you and showed their love through their actions over time. Whether that's your parents, children, spouse, siblings or a friend of yours. Don't put them in the same boat as others. Give them more since that's what they did to you. Be forgiving and tolerant but not to the extent that might lead to your abuse. Once abuse steps in and once you are manipulated put a stop sign there. Give chances, but if you don't sense change then it is time to leave. For your wellbeing matters. Never forget the past, always remind yourself of the good others did to you, don't let one mistake of theirs or even a few change your heart towards them. Be fair.

Finally I would love to share my favourite verse: Romans 8:28 :)

Peace to all.

Never let anyone abuse you.
This is 'politically correct' , and politically misused by multitudes, but all followers of Jesus suffer persecution from others, quaranteed by Jesus Own Word.
But remember to keep an open eye to all those that come across your way because not everyone is genuinely trustworthy even if they appear to be at first.
Jesus did not entrust Himself to any man, because He knows what is in man. (i.e. not good, not trustworthiness)
Never forget the past
Rather,
"forgetting what lies behind, pressing forward to what lies ahead" in Christ Jesus, in God's Kingdom....

A very nice way of saying “Stay on the path and if the whole world goes off the path, you, stay on the path.” I think that’s exactly what Jesus said to Peter when he was inquiring about John.

Sounds like what you've learned here consists largely of self-preservation. Maybe we should all run while there still may be hope for us.

There's no indication at all that John went off the path.

Jesus' point was more like "God is in charge" , you do what God says, and John will do what God tells John to do. We are to listen to the Father, and obey Him joyously and willingly, agreeing instantly without drawing back.

Interesting way of putting that. Yes, many have visited forums for a few minutes to three weeks to three months to three years, and finally did the wise thing and left because they were only getting more distraught and saw too many bad/wrong suggestions or answers and not enough truth.(not even truth supported)

Oh, the truth is like a pearl of great price, in a yard overgrown, and some people find it... yes, even on forums, by God's Grace...... but there's a lot of quicksand too.... traps laid every day, as written in Scripture, even in the house of God, traps /'tricks'/ to harm and to deceive all those who seek God...

It's often that people get hurt in a forum and leave. Or get hurt by a church, and leave. Or get hurt by this world, and leave. If you rely less on people, and more on God and getting to know Him, there will be less opportunity to be hurt, and more opportunity to learn and grow. I have learned a ton coming to this forum. Not always from people's posts, but from the very act of conversing. It forces me to read the bible and prove my argument scripturally (if that's a word), and sometimes I find out my own presumptions were wrong (Praise God!).
There may be a few that come here for selfish reasons, but I find that the majority here come to learn. From my experience, many people in the church do not read their bibles in their spare time, and do not understand, nor try to understand and go deeper. That's why I really like this forum. Many, I'd say the majority of people here want to go deeper and so they present a challenge to themselves, and to others here as well. Take a break and join in again. No need to get dramatic. God Bless!
