I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Ezekiel 36:26-28. The indwelling Spirit itself teaches, obeys and keeps the commandments that was written in our hearts causing us to to walk in the manner which is pleasing to God. His Spirit aligns our hearts with God’s heart and our wills with God’s will. If the Spirit is causing us to keep the commandments, then we are freed from hard human efforts that fail. You will find rest for your souls, for My Yoke Is Easy, My Burden Is Light. Matthew 11:28-30.

The Spirit is life giving by causing us to keep the commandments. If we walk by the Spirit, we have life. Keep my commandments and you will live. Proverbs 7:2. The law is against "deeds of the flesh" bringing death but what law is there against "the fruit of the Spirit" that brings life. If we continue to love God with all our heart, body, mind and soul, then His Spirit is in us and we bear the fruits of the Spirit in us. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22.

If you live by the Spirit, you will have and walk by the fruits of the Spirit. Whosoever loves, brings joy, makes peace, is patient, is kind, acts in goodness, is faithful, is gentle and self-controlled is obeying the law. So whatever you do, do it in love, joyously, in peace, in patience, in kindness, in goodness, in faithfulness, with gentleness and self-control. One who does them is like the Good Samaritan. Jesus said, "Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:30-37

The Spirit knows the spirit of the law. If you live by the Spirit, then by nature you keep the law and no law is against you. For God looks at the heart and it’s intention, so let everything you do flow from the fruits of the Spirit within your heart. This is what the law and the prophecies spoke about. This is the good news, the grace, the redemption, the freedom, the newness of the covenant and the kingdom of heaven that our king Jesus ushered. This is how it is in His reign. This is why Jesus said we must be born again by the Spirit to see and enter His kingdom. Thank you Jesus.

Love is not a feeling nor emotion, as far as what Yahuweh requires of His children. It is a choice of the will, willingly and joyously choosing to serve Him, Him Only, and no other with Him nor opposed to Him.

A lot of people "make peace" , or try to, or pretend to, without obeying God. Without obeying His Word - in fact often INSTEAD of obeying His Word.

Thanks for adding these scriptures, the Holy Spirit is sinless and shares righteousness with those the Holy Spirit resides with. Teaching us as you say. I agree with that :)

I disagree with that, Love is indeed a feeling that God can share as it is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit: Galatians 5:22-23

You can disagree , but cannot show from Scripture. Online are a few studies from Scripture showing clearly 'love' is a choice of the will....

Rom 7:3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

So we being dead to the law frees us from the law as many scriptures affirm. The old law is dead, we are then in response dead to that law and free to re-marry a new husband and law...the law of Christ no longer bound to the old law.

Clarke:

Romans 7:4

Wherefore, my brethren - This is a parallel case. You were once under the law of Moses, and were bound by its injunctions; but now ye are become dead to that law - a modest, inoffensive mode of speech, for, The law, which was once your husband, is dead; God has determined that it shall be no longer in force; so that now, as a woman whose husband is dead is freed from the law of that husband, or from her conjugal vow, and may legally be married to another, so God, who gave the law under which ye have hitherto lived, designed that it should be in force only till the advent of the Messiah; that advent has taken place, the law has consequently ceased, and now ye are called to take on you the yoke of the Gospel, and lay down the yoke of the law; and it is the design of God that you should do so.

Gill:

are become dead to the law, and that to them, as in Rom_7:6, and can have no more power over them than a law can have over dead persons, or a dead abrogated law can have over living ones. They are represented as "dead to sin", and "dead with Christ", Rom_6:2; and here, "dead to the law", as in Gal_2:19, and consequently cannot be under it; are out of the reach of its power and government, since that only has dominion over a man as long as be lives the law is dead to them; it has no power over them, to threaten and terrify them into obedience to it; nor even rigorously to exact it, or command it in a compulsory way

Matthew Henry:

I. Our first marriage was to the law, which, according to the law of marriage, was to continue only during the life of the law. The law of marriage is binding till the death of one of the parties, no matter which, and no longer. The death of either discharges both.

That was very nicely written, Gospels, and as I see it, it hits the intent of what God was wanting us to see in the law. When you consider the effects of the Judaizers, those teachers of the law who were binding up people and making converts twice the child of hell that they themselves were (so said Jesus to them), Paul would have been well aware of that same influence when he began to teach the Jewish and Gentile believers. Acts records the infiltration and damage that the Judaizing "believers" were inflicting on the new converts in their ignorant zeal, and the letters to the churches where Paul wrote also reflect his ongoing concern regarding the damage to their faith. Paul wasn't fighting the LAW per se, as Jesus wasn't. He was standing against the Judaizing part. To be honest, we all fight with that same tendency to pick apart words to make them say something they did not intend (sounds like a congressional hearing these days) and then tie the speaker up in those misconstrued arguments. In all fairness, this won't work with God, so no wonder Jesus as well as Paul taught this. None of us can go back to the sacrificial laws and even all the ceremonial laws about cleansing and clothing would be hard to do in a day like today, but there is still so much to be learned about what God intended for man in His law. I can't figure out why people are so interested in being, well, lawless, or a law to themselves, when God plainly tells us in His law how to make life effective. So, as you said, if we act in love, we are going to find that we don't offend most of the written laws that have to do with how we manage society. So are we keeping the law? Well, in fact we are. We can be sure that the Holy Spirit is keenly interested in our staying on the right path, and God's precepts/laws/commandments/testimonies/words show us how to walk wisely. Do we earn salvation that way? No, the law defines what behaviors will show that effective life that God wants to work in us. As someone joked, can I covet my neighbor's husband, since the scripture only says not to covet his wife? Well, no. If I love, I will rejoice with the neighbor, not covet him or her. If I love the neighbor, I'll return his wandering dog (because it's unlikely he has an ox that gets out in my neighborhood). People struggle all the time over the legalistic part when they question what role the law has to people nowadays and especially to Christians, but it is doing the same thing now that it was intending then - being a light to our path. That's how Jesus used it, not to tie up people in regulations but to help them see how to walk effectively. At least, that's how I see it.

You said much the same thing, but you did it in beautiful prose, Gospel.

His Spirit aligns our hearts with God’s heart and our wills with God’s will.
"for is is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

"Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily." (Colossians 1:28-29)

So, if we are in tune with God's Holy Spirit, our attention will be to ministering for one another to be conformed to the image of Jesus. I think this is the main focus of Christian ministry . . . versus just getting through things and being favored by God.

God's grace favors Jesus and our growing in Christ, most of all, I now trust. And Paul says he labors according to how God is working in him, to have him ministering for us to be changed to be like Jesus . . . and therefore to love like Jesus on the cross loved us > Ephesians 5:2.

So, as we grow in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, this effects where our attention goes.

The Spirit is life giving
And Jesus rose "a life-giving spirit", we have in 1 Corinthians 15:45. So, then, as Jesus grows in us > Galatians 4:19 < He changes us to also be life-giving.

Jesus in us is the fruit of the Holy Spirit > all the fruit in personal form.

And we minister God's own grace which causes people to be changed like this > 1 Peter 4:9-10 < God's grace is life-giving by changing us to be like Jesus who is eternal life in human form, I would say. We are life-giving, by ministering the grace of God's own love.

So, yes thank You, God our Father and Jesus ! ! !

The Bible often uses the same terms to describe the character of God as it does to describe the character of God's Law, which is because it is His instructions for how to express His character traits, such as being holy, righteous, and good (Romans 7:12) or with justice, mercy, and faithfulness being weightier matters of the Law. Jesus was led by the Spirit and expressed these character traits and other fruits of the Spirit through his actions and what that looked like was complete obedience to the Mosaic Law. Works of the flesh are always those done in disobedience to the Mosaic Law, such as in Romans 8:4-7, those who walk in the Spirit are contrasted with those who have minds set on the flesh who refuse to submit to God's Law. In Galatians 5:19-22, everything listed as being works of the flesh that are against the Spirit are also against the Mosaic Law, while all of the fruits of the Spirit are in accordance with it.

In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus was inviting people to become his disciples and to learn from him how to obey the Mosaic Law. By saying that he would give us rest, he remezed that he was God because it is God who gives us rest (Exodus 33:14), by saying that he was humble of heart, he remezed that he was the second Moses that they were expecting (Numbers 12:3, Deuteronomy 18:15-19), and by saying that we would find rest for our souls, he remezed that he was the Torah (Jeremiah 6:16-19).

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law- Galatians 3:13

God is not an unloving Father who gave His Law in order to curse His children, but rather He said that it was given for our own good in order to bless us (Deuteronomy 6:24). In Deuteronomy 30:11-20, God said that His Law is not too difficult to obey and that obedience brings life and a blessing while disobedience brings death and a curse, so God's Law itself is not a curse, but rather being set free from the curse of the Law is being set free from living in disobedience to it so that we can be free to enjoy the blessing of the Law.

the law entangles with the yoke of bondage- Galatians 5:1

The reason that God saved the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt was not in order to put them under bondage to His Law, but rather it is for freedom that God sets us free (Galatians 5:1), and God's Law is a Law of freedom (Psalms 119:45), while it is sin in transgression of God's Law that puts us in bondage (John 8:34-36).

if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law - Galatians 5:18

The Spirit is not in disagreement with the Father about which laws we should follow and will not lead us to disobey what He has commanded, but rather in Ezekiel 36:26-27, the Spirit has the role of leading us to obey His Law, so it wouldn't make any sense to interpret this verse as referring to God's Law. Furthermore, in Galatians 5:19-22, everything listed as works of the flesh that are against the Spirit are also against the Mosaic Law, while all of the fruits of the Spirit are in accordance with it.

the strength of sin is the law- 1 Corinthians 15:56

A law that is the strength of sin would be a law that is sinful, however, Romans 7:7 says that God's Law isn't sinful, so this verse could not be referring to God's Law.

ye also are become dead to the law - Romans 7:4

In Romans 7:1-4, it is speaking about dying to the law of her husband that would cause her to commit adultery if she were to live without another man while he was still alive. At not point was she set free from needing to obey God's Law.

the law worketh wrath- Romans 4:15

The Law does not worketh wrath for those who obey it, but for those who refuse to obey it.

we are not under the law- Romans 6:15

Likewise, Romans 6:14 describes us as not being under a law where sin had dominion over, which is referring to a law that was sinful and therefore could not be referring to God's Law, which is not sinful. Sin is the transgression of God's Law (1 John 3:4) and Romans 6:15 says that being under grace doesn't mean that we are permitted to sin, so we are still under God's Law.

we are delivered from the law- Romans 7:6

In Romans 7:22-23, Paul said that he delighted in obeying God's Law, but contrasted that with the law of sin, which held him captive. If Romans 7:5-6 were referring to God's Law, then that would mean that Paul delighted in stirring up sinful passions to bear fruit unto death and that he delighted in being held captive, which is absurd, but rather it is the law of sin that he described as holding him captive.

we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter- Romans 7:6

The difference between following the letter of the law and the spirit of the law is not in regard to following different sets of laws, but in regard to the manner in which someone obeys the law according to the letter of exactly how it is written without regard to its spirit or intent. For example:

Leviticus 19:12 You shall not swear by my name falsely, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.

Someone who was obeying the spirit of this law would understand that we are not to swear falsely while someone obeying the letter of this law would understand that we can swear falsely just as long as we don't do so in God's name, which is exactly what Jesus was calling the Pharisees out for doing in Matthew 5:33-37.

All of the verses I quoted are talking about God's law, the Mosaic law of the OT.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

There are only two laws. The old Sinai law of sin and death and the "law of Christ" which is the law of the Spirit of life!

All of the verses I quoted are talking about God's law, the Mosaic law of the OT.

Please make the case for that and interact with what I said to show that it could not be referring to the Mosaic Law instead of just assuming that to be true without bothering to determine which law Paul was speaking about.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

There are only two laws. The old Sinai law of sin and death and the "law of Christ" which is the law of the Spirit of life!

God is not in disagreement with Himself about which laws we should follow, so the Law of Christ is the same as the Law of the Spirit and the Law of the Father, which was given to Moses. In Romans 7:21-8:2, Paul said that he delighted in obeying God's Law and that he served it which his mind, but contrasted that with the law of sin and death, which he served with his flesh, so he equated the Mosaic Law with the Law of the Spirit and contrasted them both with the law of sin and death. This verse clearly contrasts God's Law with the law of sin, so you should not be interpret them as referring to the same law:

Romans 7:25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Obviously you are incorrect. The law of Moses was bondage and the law of Christ is freedom. Paul is clear on that.

Galatians 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
Galatians 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

Citing Galatians 4:21-24 does not show that my interpretation of Romans 7:21-8:2 is incorrect and more than me citing Romans 7:21-8:2 shows that your interpretation of Galatians 4:21-24 is incorrect. Citing other verses can provide context that influences how Romans 7:21-8:2 should be interpreted, but by themselves do not serve as an explanation for how Romans 7:21-8:2 should be interpreted, and without doing that you, even if your interpretation of Galatians 4:21-24 were correct, you would at most be establishing that it contradicts Romans 7:21-8:2. In the following verses, Paul said that he delighted in God's Law, but contrasted that with the law of sin, which held him captive, so they are not referring to the same law and you need to address this.

Romans 7:22-23 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
Galatians 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

All throughout the Bible, God wanted His people to repent from their sins and to return to obedience to His Law, and even Christ began his ministry with that message, so it wouldn't make any sense to interpret Galatians 5:4 as Paul warning us against doing that and as saying that we will be cut off from Christ if we repent and follow Christ. Paul was not an enemy of God, so he should not be interpreted as teaching rebellion against being what God has commanded.

Furthermore, that would contradict what other verses say about grace. For example, in Palms 119:29, David wanted God to be gracious to him by teaching him to obey His Law, so do you think that he was wanting God to be gracious to him by teaching him how to fall from grace?

The laws that someone gives reflect upon their values and who they are as a person. For example, if someone is trustworthy, then they give laws that are trustworthy and if someone is giving laws that aren't trustworthy, then they shouldn't be considered to be trustworthy, so the opinion that someone has of a law matches the opinion that they have of the lawgiver for giving it. God is trustworthy, so His Law is therefore also trustworthy (Psalms 19:7) and a law that is holy, righteous, and good can only come from a God who is holy, righteous, and good (Romans 7:12). So if you have such a poor opinion of God's Law that you consider it to be a yoke of bondage, then you must therefore also have an equally low opinion of God for giving it.

The Psalms contain extremely high praise for God's Law, which certainly matched his opinion of the Lawgiver, such as repeatedly saying that he loved it and delighted in obeying it, which Paul also did (Romans 7:22), which is incompatible with viewing it as a yoke of bondage, therefore Galatians 5:1 could not be referring to God's Law. If you consider the Psalms to be Scripture and to therefore express a correct view of God's Law, then you will therefore share it instead of holding a view that is the opposite of the one expressed in Scripture.

Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Paul's problem with the Judaizers was not that they were teaching followers to God how to follow what He has commanded as though it were somehow a negative thing to obey God, but rather his problem was that they were teaching that all Gentiles needed to obey their works of the law in order to become justified. Likewise, in Matthew 23:2-4, Jesus wasn't criticizing the Pharisees for teaching the people to obey what God has commanded them to do, but rather his problem was with all the mountains of man-made traditions that they were putting on their backs.

The Bible does not use the category of ceremonial laws, but if you put any laws that God has commanded into that category and say that Paul was arguing against obeying them, then that would be fighting the Law per se.

If God were a legalist for giving the Mosaic Law and Jesus were a legalist for living in sinless obedience to it and for teaching his followers how to obey it by word and by example, then being a legalist would be being in good company. However, you wouldn't consider someone to be a legalist for thinking that the laws of their country should be obeyed, legalism does not refer to thinking that one or many laws should be obeyed, but to the manner in which someone obeys them according to the letter of exactly how they were written without regard to their spirit or intent.

Jesus was not in disagreement with the Father about which laws we should follow, he didn't have a problem with following regulations. Jesus was sinless, so he had a zeal and a dedication to obeying God's Law that surpassed even the Pharisees, and as his followers we are told to follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-22).
