Don't lose your moral heart

I was talking with someone a few days ago, and he was explaining his inappropriate content addiction, as thought it was a natural act. I told him it's abnormal and he replied, "my morals aren't bothered" (paraphrased).

It got me thinking. How can a person in this condition be saved? Especially when they already know of the truth, which is Jesus.

We are born with an intrinsic moral heart. We know what's good and evil. Our emotions are a testament to that. However, after continuing in sin, our heart becomes hardened. As it's written, God will give you up to a reprobate mind. Meaning you are worthless in His eyes, because there is nothing left of you to salvage. As Jesus said, ye are the salt of the earth, if the salt has lost it's savor, wherewith shall it be salted? Therefore, it is good for nothing, except to be cast out, and be trodden under man.

Perhaps the birth of the moral heart was the effect of Adam and Eve taking the forbidden fruit.

Perhaps this is why God destroys entire cities that have become reprobate to law. How can they learn morals again once they've been lost? It's better for them to die, then to have children who will be destined to hell.

Like the modern proverb says, "one bad apple spoils the rest". Perhaps this is why God had laws punishable unto death in the old testament. Israel had to be kept pure in order to be a light.

Yes the Holy Spirit will give you a new heart. But some have fallen beyond having the will to seek help in Jesus.

The Holy Spirit has to address it. Much like He does with our sin. Most people have areas of struggle. Maybe not inappropriate contentography but its easy to understand how sin carries us further than expected. It desensitizes our mind and after a while it doesn’t seem wrong.

He’s lost but not hopeless. God has rescued many from deeper pits. Pray for him. Perhaps that was the Lord’s intention all along.

The central point I was making was an attack against liberalism of sin in modern Christianity.
The mantra of "saved by grace through faith" has slowly destroyed "go and sin no more". They go hand in hand, and focusing on one more than the other will result in spiritual failure.

"I'm saved so even if I sin I'm still saved". This is becoming common among Christians, especially Catholics. Irrespective of the truth of that quote, it's the inevitable path to becoming reprobate.

Even if it's overlooking one sin at a time, that again is the path to becoming reprobate.
Example:
-A few centuries ago Halloween was banned in some countries; now many Christians celebrate it.
-A dress above the knees was immodest; now many Christian woman (and men) expose cleavage with their clothing.
-Homosexuality was illegal (by God and government); now churches have homosexual pastors and members.

This is the steady broad path to becoming reprobate.
