Star, moon and sun motion.... not confined to globe model...... in the least.

The observed motion of the stars can only be explained by realising the earth is a sphere. This has been known for 2500 years.

All the more so when you travel to Australia.

So is they key word insignificant? That would seem counterproductive for the devil who would want us to be self centered. Insignificant is rather humbling. Although we also believe that our significances is not our own but in Christ who loves us and died for us.

This is what I'm getting at :

• Heliocentrism is A Lie and is disproven by The Holy Scriptures And The Holy Church Father Writers.

• Macroevolution Is A Lie.

• "Space Aliens" are really just demons and fallen angels.

Barbarian observes:
So far, no one has been able to offer an explanation for the movement of a Foucault pendulum other than the Earth's rotation.

Foucault's Pendulum reverses direction during an eclipse...

No, it doesn't. Even with the Moon and Sun lined up, their combined gravity doesn't effect it enough to measurably change the motion, even after repeated attempts to control every known factor:

Of course the real proof of the pudding would be to repeat the experiment. Either the effect is real or it isn't, and further experiments should lead to the truth. But total solar eclipses are not overly common, and they don't often occur over university research labs. So only a handful of experiments have been done, and they've been done with equipment of widely varying precision. The results have been mixed. Allais repeated the effect in 1959, and found the effect again. In 1965 an experiment using a more precise gravimeter device found no effect, while a pendulum experiment in 1970 found some effect, though the cause was unclear. One of the more precise pendulum experiments was performed in 1990 by Tom Kuusela. Kuusela found no effect to within 1 part in 4 million. Another one by Horacio R. Salva in 2010 also failed to see any effect. So it seems pretty clear that the effect isn't real. But that hasn't stopped the controversy. There are a few experiments that claim to observe the effect, though they tend to be published in less mainstream journals. Supporters of the effect have cited it as evidence for everything from dark matter to the electric universe and a flat Earth. If you delve deep enough you find accusations that NASA covered up research from several eclipse experiments.

Long story short, the Allais' effect was likely due to experimental error, but it remains an interesting story.

The Strange Story Of The Eclipse And The Pendulum

I'm aware some conspiracy buff sites say it reversed, but even Allais never made such a wild claim. Here's his graph in which he claims the change is less than ten degrees during the eclipse:
https%3A%2F%2Fblogs-images.forbes.com%2Fbriankoberlein%2Ffiles%2F2017%2F07%2Fallais-1200x641.jpg

The big problem is that no one else can reproduce his results. Which is a huge problem in science.

Coriolis effect is never used in military long range shots whether snipers or heavy artillery.

Following the long range shooting series? Here’s the next installment of external ballistics theory: the Coriolis Effect. On Bullet Trajectory Part 1 and part 2, I talked about Coriolis Effect as a variable which affect the bullet flight both on the horizontal and the vertical plane of the trajectory. But what exactly is Coriolis Effect?
...
Despite being associated with Coriolis, the phenomenon that actually affects the vertical component of the trajectory is called Eötvös Effect. The rotation of the Earth generates a centrifugal force, the same that pushes you to the side when you make a sharp turn with your car. This force acts perpendicular to the Earth rotatory axis, adding or subtracting to the gravity force. When an object flies eastward, in the same direction of Earth’s rotation, centrifugal force acts opposite of gravity, pushing it away from the Earth’s surface. If the object flies westward, in the opposite direction of the Earth rotation, centrifugal force pushes the object toward the ground concurrently to gravity force. Thus, bullets fired to the east always fly a little higher, and, conversely, bullets fired to the west always travel somewhat low.

The amount of drop change is in function of:

Latitude – The linear velocity of a point on the Earth’s surface, and thus the amount of centrifugal force, is maximum at the equator and decreases going toward the poles, where it is null.

Shooting direction, or azimuth – The amount of drop change is highest when shooting east or west, and as the trajectory angles north or south, the amount of drop change decreases, becoming null, as the angle points toward either pole.

Muzzle velocity – The amount of centrifugal force is determined by the speed of the flying object.

Before, I mentioned that the vertical element associated with the Coriolis effect is actually called the Eötvös effect. To give you an idea how the Eötvös effect alters a trajectory, here’s an example. Let’s say you’re firing a .308 175gr bullet, with a muzzle velocity of 2700fps, from a latitude of 45°. The drop at 1000yds will be 392 inches, shooting either to the north or south (without error). Shooting with an azimuth of 90°, or eastward, the drop will be 388in. Shooting with an azimuth of 270°, or westward, the drop will be 396in. In either case, there is a total change in drop of 4in. An easy assumption is to predict that, when shooting with an intermediate azimuth, that the drop change will be linear. This is incorrect. Instead of a 2in change for an azimuth of 45°, the error is a function of the sine of the azimuth angle. For those of you who don’t have a fondness for trigonometry, this essentially means that you have half the error at 30° rather than at 45°. Changes in latitude have a minimal effect, since at the equator, where the effect is greatest, the error would be 5in, only one inch more than the error we calculated at 45° latitude.

What is most affected by Coriolis Effect is the horizontal component of the bullet trajectory. Because of the Coriolis effect, every moving object not connected to the ground is always deflected to right in the Northern Hemisphere, and always toward left in the Southern Hemisphere. The deflection is not east or west, but specifically to the right or left with reference to the shooting direction. It doesn’t matter in which direction you shoot; it is a function of latitude and average bullet speed. Its effect is maximum at the poles, and decreases as one moves toward the Equator, where it is minimal. The explanation of this phenomenon is more difficult than the explanation of Eötvös Effect, so I won’t go into it into detail.

Here’s an expample of error due to Coriolis effect: firing the same .308 175gr bullet at 2700fps muzzle velocity, from a latitude of 45° in the Northern Hemisphere, the deflection at 1000yds will be of 3in to right. At the North Pole, where the effect is maximum, the deflection will be a little more than four inches. The deflection will be the same in the Southern Hemisphere, but it will be to the left, instead.

Not to mention the Fathers:

We maintain that God must first be known from nature, and afterwards authenticated by instruction: from nature by His works; by instruction, through His revealed announcements. (Tertullian, Against Marcion).

If we didnt learn we would still be stuck with a stone wheel!

We wouldn't even have gotten as far as the wheel!

Let's go on...

Air liners are never affected by this so called "effect". Even on long trips.

Because they are constantly corrected by the pilot or autopilot. But ballistic objects are affected. The V-2 missiles were "aimed" with consideration of the Earth's rotation. I should mention that it works on smaller systems with higher rotational speeds. There was, near my community, an amusement park with a circular rotating room. People would go in and line up around the wall, after which the room would begin to rotated. Eventually, the floor would drop down, and you'd be held against the wall. Which seemed like a great opportunity to me. My son and I went in, and tossed ping pong balls, which (in the rotating frame of reference of the room) did indeed fly in curved paths.

As we left the ride, security asked us to leave the park, which we did.

Barbarian observes:
So far, no one has been able to offer an explanation for the fact that one can launch larger payloads into space when launching eastward close to the equator, other than the Earth's rotation.

Of course... only NASA would be able to give proof of this...right?

And the European Space Agency, and Russia's Roscosmos, and the Indian Space Research Organization , and the China National Space Administration and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, among others. There are 14 space agencies capable of launching satellites at this time. I know, it's the Great American, Russian, Chinese, European, Japanese conspiracy to fake space craft launches, right?

Barbarian observes:
So far, no one has been able to offer an explanation as to why a large earthquake very slightly changed the apparent movement of the stars immediately after, other than the Earth's rotation.

Not proof of a rotation.. just a shift in the luminary movement attributed to a non measurable concept.

Sorry, you're wrong. Immediately after the earthquake, there was a measurable change in the apparent motion of stars, precisely the amount of change that would be attributable to the quake. No point in denial. And inertia is a very measurable concept.

Nobody has observed anything "from the moon".... Again... NASA......Seriously?

If not, it's hard to explain how the Lunar Ranging Mirror Array got set up there. And we know it's there, because every observatory on Earth can bounce lasers off it and get extremely precise measurements of lunar distance. So now all the astronomers on Earth are in on the great conspiracy, um?

Direction of wind is based on the direction of the rising of the sun and high pressure verse low pressure... Supposed rotation is a theory based on a concept.

Even 300 years ago, sailors knew that's wrong:

Prevailing winds are winds that blow consistently in a given direction over a particular region on Earth.[1] Due to factors such as uneven heating from the Sun and the Earth's rotation, these winds vary at different latitudes on Earth.

550px-Prevailingwinds.png

Sailors chose their latitudes according to the direction they wanted to go, and they avoided if they could, the dreaded Doldrums.

[quote[Now.. the speed of astronomical objects is proof of the spin of the earth... [/quote]

The apparent speed. Alpha Centauri A is about 4.2 light-years away, close enough that we can measure its distance by parallax.

Stelpar.gif

It appears to rotate around the Earth once every 24 hours. It's apparent velocity (assuming a stationary Earth) is over 55 light-years per day. So physically impossible.

Really Barb... your grasping in a lot of these.. Not proof's... theories applied as grasping at straws.

See above. All directly measured, and according to well-established physics. No point in denying the facts.

Tides.... rotation... seriously?

Yep. Tidal rhythmites show a much shorter day, many millons of years ago. This is because of the recession of the moon, which is now measurable by that mirror array you just learned about. You see, tides are twice a day because of the Moon's gravity. The Earth is slowing down because of the tides. They transfer momentum from the Earth to the Moon, and as Kepler and Newton showed, a faster orbit means a more distant orbit. So the only way that the Moon could gain momentum from the Earth, is if the Earth was rotating.

A lot of these are simply explained in the FE models

You're on. Show us.
