At least he didn’t do an exorcism.

After chaotic debates on Capitol Hill this week, the Chaplain of the House of Representatives on Thursday prayed to “cast out all spirits of darkness” from the chamber.

“This has been a difficult and contentious week in which darker spirits seemed to have been at play in the people’s house,” Rev. Patrick Conroy began, according to C-SPAN.

The Jesuit priest then closed his eyes and dramatically raised his arms as he said: “In your most holy name I now cast out all spirits of darkness from this chamber.”

“I cast out the spirit of discouragement which deadens the hope of those who are of good will,” he said.

“I cast out the spirit of petty divisiveness which clouds the sense and the desire to be of fruitful productivity and addressing the issues more appropriately before this House.”

So, it looks like we are seeing how well it works to try to get others to do what we want. And maybe we are so busy with others because we have not been able to get our own selves to do what we want.

But we can do what God wants.

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)

God knows we need "longsuffering" . . . not only with others.

So, prayer works, with thanksgiving.

I did not know there were such "spirits" even priests could single out. And how did he know which of these evil spirits had the upper hand on a particular political party? That's some discerning he was doing.

Yes, it was. If you watched the video you'd see he did not peak in partisan terms. Yet clearly, there is darkness in the chamber. And thank God for a House Chaplain that had the courage of God's conviction to call it out and banish it in the name of Jesus Christ.

No mention of any heads spinning around on bodies I take it?

You don't think the MSM is going to report that do you?

(They always cover up embarrassing things like that).

Not to defend main stream media.. but I'm curious as to where you think the article came from.
