I read the words in the book of John "I am the bread of life" just the other day for the very first time.

I am a new christian yet, so trying to read through the Gospel is new to me.

I've been reading all these other books and not the actual bible--not enough!

It knocked me out!

I mean it just melted me...can you just imagine meeting Jesus back in the day and him saying that to you?!!

Do you think you would just jaw drop and follow him everywhere too?!

When did you first actually read the Gospel and what did it do to you?

Wonderful! Thankyou for sharing that,'joymercy'. The Gospel of John was the first Bible book I read as s young convert. It helped me so much to believe the certainty of salvation through faith in Christ! The first verse I learnt was Jesus said'I am the Way the Truth and the Life!'.

fasting before the I go to the mass helps me to focus on hungering for the bread of life!
