Scripture interprets scripture, and we need consider apparent contradictions. Like from Revelation, a great multitude from all nations, tribes and tongues...Seems to me that the most disliked "interpretations" of the Bible are probably right.

This article linked above has convinced me that this is the correct translation of 2 Timothy 3:16-17:
"All God-breathed writing (is) profitable for teaching, for convincing evidence, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God is equipped to accomplish all good works."
In other words, it puts the emphasis on just the words that have been specifically spoken God. However either way, the Mosaic Law is included in what these verses are referring to. In 2 Timothy 3:15, Paul referred to sacred writings that Timothy had available to him since childhood, which could only have referred to OT Scripture because the books of the NT hadn't been written yet.
