I am sick of being in spiritual warfare all the time I want to follow god and his ways but I just want to give up my pursuit with god so I can finally have some peace, my prayers and cry’s for help don’t work so I honestly have no clue how to keep going.

It is tough to keep going. I sin so much! I stink with people, and can be grumpy.

Keep going! This life in Christ is going to be a battle. Take time out to just talk to Him about your struggles. Just be with Him. Let Him help you.

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:2-4 NKJV

This is because you are trying to follow God in your own strength and following a law-based gospel, which is not the gospel of Christ. I don't know who brainwashed you into following a rule performance-based gospel, but they have led you up the garden path and not along the narrow way of Christ. The way to get back on track (if you ever were on track in the first place) is to stop trying to be holy and righteous, spend you time just getting to know God better in His Word, and let the Holy Spirit do the work in you to make you the holy person He wants you to be.

I think I understand what your feeling...a lot more than I would like to admit. For the longest time I hated my faith, felt like so many of my questions were going unanswered and like God was just some concept that didn't help me, but then things started to change. I've come to realize that there is no possible way for me to live up to the standards that so many people have told me exist for being a good Christian because it was never about following the rules, it's about including God in the journey. I think you're overthinking it, believing that you've got to be something right now that you aren't. You're human, God knows this and he still loves you! He's telling me right now to tell you that it doesn't matter what your facing, it doesn't matter just how far off the finish line seems, that he's got your back, and that he is proud of you! He wants you to know that his love is eternal, and that his grace is infinite, and that he will be with you every step of the way no matter what. You are not alone, and let me tell you, God want's me to let you know that is there joy and rest for you in his arms! I'm rooting for you, and with God backing you up you're unstoppable!

Stopping your pursuit of God doesn't stop spiritual warfare. It just shifts the battlefield to the enemy's domain and leaves you ill equipped to fight.

I know it can be extemely tiring at times, but that is when we need to pursue Him all the more.

Being a Christian isn't promised to be without difficulty. In fact, we are to rejoice in our trials!

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]. 1 Peter 5:10

Jesus said "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

Keeping in our faith is a daily struggle and scripture is clear about this. If you deny the faith, your struggles will not go away. It's better to trust in God in the truths that have been made known to you then to perish from willful ignorance. Don't trust in your own strength, trust in God's. "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

I appreciate your honesty, and I understand your weariness. I feel it too. But to stop pursuing God is to stop pursuing life. He IS life.

I've been thinking about how the Christian life is a marathon, but I want it to be more like a sprint. A marathon takes patience and endurance. The muscles become fatigued, and you have to push through the fatigue for a long period of time and stay focused on the finish line--on finishing the race.

God wants us to finish this race. I don't think that He makes it easy, but He makes it doable by His grace. Grace is His saving and sustaining power. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

His mercy and grace are there for the taking.

As others have suggested, sometimes we just need to rest in His arms. The hymn "Leaning in the Everlasting Arms" just came to mind. It's based on Deuteronomy 33:27--"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:..."

Praise God! He never grows tired and weary in helping us! His grace is always available to us.

I pray that you will feel His power reenergize you and give you the strength to finish the race and keep the faith. As Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7--"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Christ is your rest. He has paid your debt in full. Nothing you do can compensate for what He has done for you. Instead of pursuing Him, open your heart to Him. If you believe, you are no longer a debtor. You belong to Him, you are His inheritance. Learn to rest in Him, knowing He has defeated sin and death for you.

In Christ

I am sick of being in spiritual warfare all the time I want to follow god and his ways but I just want to give up my pursuit with god so I can finally have some peace, my prayers and cry’s for help don’t work so I honestly have no clue how to keep going.

I guess I would need more information. I don't see people who are Christians, in spiritual warfare all the time.

I don't see Christians reacting the way that you are right now.

That leads me to a few questions.

Are you reaping something you have sown? The laws of the harvest are that we as human beings reap what we have sown into our lives. That's not G-d doing it. That's not evil spirits doing it. That's simply how the world works.

Let me give you a basic example. If you build a house on sand, when the waves come, your house will fall down.
You can't blame G-d or the spirits, for your house falling down if you built it badly.

Let me give you a practical example. If you have treated people badly in the past, you may have to reap the consequences of being a jerk to people. I personally have had that happen in my life, and I treated people badly, and they treated me badly back, and I knew it was my own fault.

So that is one possibility. Again, not suggesting anything. You didn't give enough info to make a guess about.

Another possibility is that you happen to be in a bad situation, that neither you, nor G-d, had anything to do with.

If you think about the Coptic Christians in Egypt for example. Marginalized by society. Living in poverty most of their lives. They went to Libya looking for work, ended up captured by ISIS, and killed.

That wasn't G-d doing that, or the spirits. That was simply this world.

If I can give you just one bit of advice about this world.... this is a sin cursed world. Bad things will happen to all of us. Those bad things will happen to you, whether you believe G-d, or if you do not. Whether you pray every morning for wisdom and help, or if you don't... bad things will happen. You'll fail a test, have your car break down on the road, have your closest friend betray you, get laid off f.

Bad things happen. That is part of life. And the best bit of advice I can add to that... don't look for someone to blame, as much as you can. It's just life.

Lastly, maybe you are just struggling with doing right.

Welcome to being a human. We all have to face our inner struggle.

Now I know part of that kinda sucks, because we hate fighting our inner problems.....

But think about it this way... You know who doesn't have that inner struggle with doing what is right?

Serial killers, rapists, muggers, thieves and criminals in prison. They never struggle with doing what is right.

Yeah, that struggle sucks.... but it's much better to have that struggle, than not. If you don't struggle with doing what is right, that is a very very bad sign.

I would suggest that you be open about your struggle, what you are having difficulty with. Often times the devil has us chasing our own tail, afraid of things that God is not even requiring, or thinking. Telling others what is going on can help us to see what needs fixing, and what does not. But we all go through hard times as Christians, sometimes it is really tough, but you need to endure those times, as in the life of people like Job, and Joseph, they had sorrow in the beginning, but joy and provision at the end of the trial.
