Hi it's Emmy, the interloper.

Our nice priest and our nice nuns came for supper again. They are so precious! We had a wonderful dinner for them, grilled steaks on the grill, I made roasted red potatoes and steamed broccoli with melted cheese and a nice garden salad. I made a nice cheesecake for dessert with strawberry jam on it.

During dinner, I put on the computer to send it to the big TV in the dining room and the movie was "South Pacific."

We were all singing along, "I'm going to wash that man right out of my hair"

We had a great time again.

God bless you all for helping me make them so welcome. I do love them dearly and I love them being a part of our lives.

Life is so great with wonderful folks in it.

Thank you again,
Your interloper Emmy

I'm just so happy that you do feel comfortable inviting your friends for a meal.

Too many see Clergy and Religious as 'strange' people who lead lives apart from the rest of us. They are human , like us, and they need to have friends too - people who just lead ordinary lives and enjoy having company from time to time

Oh I love them so much. They were our special guests at our wedding. Father F stood with Ben's minister and my minister and shared in the wedding vows. It was so precious.

Our wedding was medieval themed and Father F showed up as a knight in chain mail. He couldn't wait to get out of it. He said wearing that chain mail was worse than being stuffed into a Smart car.

He is 6'4". Ouch.

A Catholic priest dressed in chain mail to marry you? I have to say, I'm shocked. I did not think that was allowed on the Catholic tradition. ???

I didn't know either. But he was a guest to stand with our ministers. It was the correct way to do things, we thought.

I have learned, with these dear folks, don't mess with their sense of humor when they come as precious guests to your wedding.

Especially when they decorated the wrong truck. Now THAT was waay too funny! Oh goodness, they are such blessings in our lives. Life is so good when there are precious folks like them in it.

I didn't have a Catholic wedding; they were guests and we asked him to stand along with both our ministers.

I can say there's nothing like a knight in shining armour making sure you're married properly. Ben and I kept trying not to laugh. Everyone, Baptists, Fundies, you-name-its, the Catholics, they and we all loved it.

I'm probably sure he wouldn't do this at a Catholic wedding but he sure did it at ours, and it was a hit!

In the end, we all loved it, and Ben and I managed to get married. Mission accomplished!

All good things

Oh dear. They aren't strange at all. They have the same issues as we all do, just on a different level. When the nuns' car blew up a transmission, of course my sister's dear hubby fixed it. He is precious and fixed it with no charge.

The blessed thing about that was he had the spare parts back in the storage shed to fix it. God is so good! The torque converter went out, and he had one to replace it.

They are human, obviously, and of course they need friends. All of us do. While I understand maybe perhaps clergy is different, well, I choose to welcome them, to open my home to them, and to be friends and -- more than that -- brothers and sisters in Christ to all of them.

But of course when they come to our home, we defer to them and ask them to lead grace and then the parting blessing. Then we put leftovers in a bunch of nice containers and send them packing ... with food, love, and hugs. That's how it is done, properly and respectfully.

All good things
