What do you mean by fight?

All it takes for evil to win is for good people to do nothing.

No idea where that quote comes from, but it is very true.

So fighting the good fight can mean living a Christian life at work, at home and in the community, constantly lifting up and demonstrating Christian moral principals.

1 Corinthians 13 King James Version (KJV)
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

How do you do all the good you can in your life, as an example?

does that mean getting involved in protests?

If you believe the cause is right then yes.

However while we have a legal right to protest, we also need to ensure that our protest is itself legal.

Jesus over turned the tables of the money changers, do we do the same?
The deacons in our church are charged with keeping order which means physically removing someone who is deliberately disruptive, so I do see a place for physical force in the church.

But mostly I think we fight with "the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God"

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4, NKJV)

As for getting involved in community issues, there are times I feel strongly enough to support a cause by donating money or signing petitions ... can't say I've ever done any placard waving ... but I might if the LGBT ideology continues to impose on our children at school!

In the 50 years that I have been attending my church I have never seen anyone physically removed. Is this a common occurrence in your church?

fighting the good fight, I think means keeping the faith and fighting against the evil in this world, because we are not of this world, yet we are....

at mass on Easter Sunday this year, we had police officers surrounding our sanctuary...

and at holocaust memorial day this year at synagogue, we had officers both outside and inside during the service.

the officers seemed to really be listening hard and enjoying the service too.

we thanked them all for their service, shook hands too.

Shalom

Is the good fight a literal fight with fists flying or words flying or how you vote or is it with being a prayer warrior?

Or are there many shades of grey in between?

Is it ever good to fight?
Paul's words to the Ephesians are what jump at me when I read what you asked.

Ephesians 6:10-13 - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Once we become a Christian, our primary job is to then spend the rest of our life growing in sanctification. Growing in sanctification simply means to become more like Christ. The more we become like Christ, the more we will love others, and the more God will be glorified and honored in and through us.

I think that the way we fight the good fight of faith is to seek to live a life that reflects the character of Christ.

Listen to Paul in his letter to Timothy: Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ... Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share...O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called "knowledge"— which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you.

Jesus over turned the tables of the money changers, do we do the same?

"It is written," He said to them, "'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it 'a den of robbers.'"

If money changers have set up tables in your own house, then maybe you get to physically toss them out.

just so much fighting and protesting going on all over the place, with some people/organizations making it all about being a Christian and it being the responsible thing to do.

What do angels fight for? The souls of men. We have a spiritual war going on, not a war for any material and temporal things. It is a war against the enemy, Satan, who wants souls.
So we pray and put on our armor: the helmut (salvation), the shield (FAITH) and the sword ( The SPIRIT/WORD).
Also we fight with the TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS.
That's the good fight.
