The young are regarded as the most tolerant generation. That's why results of this LGBTQ survey are 'alarming'

Young people are growing less tolerant of LGBTQ individuals, a jarring turn for a generation traditionally considered embracing and open, a survey released Monday shows.

The number of Americans 18 to 34 who are comfortable interacting with LGBTQ people slipped from 53% in 2017 to 45% in 2018 – the only age group to show a decline, according to the annual Accelerating Acceptance report. And that is down from 63% in 2016.

Driving the dilution of acceptance are young women whose overall comfort levels plunged from 64% in 2017 to 52% in 2018, says the survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD.

“We count on the narrative that young people are more progressive and tolerant,” John Gerzema, CEO of The Harris Poll, told USA TODAY. “These numbers are very alarming and signal a looming social crisis in discrimination.”

Among the findings:

• 36% of young people said they were uncomfortable learning a family member was LGBTQ, compared with 29% in 2017.

• 34% were uncomfortable learning their doctor was LGBTQ vs. 27% a year earlier.

• 39% were uncomfortable learning their child had a school lesson on LGBTQ history vs. 30% in 2017.

More at link: The young are regarded as the most tolerant generation. That's why results of this LGBTQ survey are 'alarming'

What are your thoughts? Is this Trump's doing? The USA Today attributes the decline to "Toxic Culture." Here is one opinion piece on the recent Harris Poll:

I think they are figuring out bit by bit that the emperor has no clothes. They see the emperor every day with no clothes on and they hear every day that the emperor's clothes are magnificent and the disconnect grows.

I can see that as the younger generation has to live through the mandatory events, rules and decrees.

The above should be cause for concern with the 2020 Democrat Presidential candidates.

They are less free because of hyperPC than their elders were. These folks thoughts are prescribed for them by the elites in a way never before done to us. But Natural Law is, well, natural. So reality seeps in the cracks. There is thus some hope.

What should also be of concern is that many people are refusing to be polled, introducing poll bias, and many others aren't willing to reveal themselves as unPC to polsters, introducing more polling bias. Political polls are IMHO no longer trustworthy and the vote may be a big surprise to pollsters.

What's interesting is Harris did this poll for GLADD. So take the declining numbers down another 5-10%.

It's a relatively small change, so perhaps we should not rush to unwarrented conclusions?

"Toxic culture" is probably a correct estimation. People are becoming less tolerant of differences. Also, young people now days are distant from the battles that gays had to fight for, and may not be as understanding as the previous generation.

Another possibility is that perhaps people are being more honest than in the past.
Meaning that in previous polling they fibbed a bit to appear "tolerant?"

I feel that God says It's unnatural to be homosexual, Regardless of how people rationalize it, It is considered a sin. With that said, It's not my sin to Judge, I have a Neice that is Gay, She seems happy with her endless string of female partners,

But we can get so caught up in the issue of modern culture and political rantings that we don't see, That only in America and parts of Europe is homosexuality considered acceptable. I'm not here to fight and Argue, I am not sinless, Anyone could point out sins I've committed. But I will not fall into the trap of saying Homosexuality is okay, Or that it's not a sin, God destroyed two cities for it and spoke about how it was unnatural and how he disapproved. I don't know what else to say other than, People are forced by society and political correction to accept homosexuality as a natural and even progressive thing.

We as Christians should Value Gods words and the lessons God taught us in the bible.

And if people don't like that, Then perhaps it's a "Pride" issue. We are servants and children of God, He is not just some Old guy that casts down Judgment, He is a Master and we are his servants. Cover your pride with Dirt and Dung, For it is more valuable.

People, including the young, are getting tired of gayist bigotry and bullying by gays of reasonable people who don’t share their views. People are being thrown out of their jobs simply because they don’t believe in same sex “marriage.” This is surely unacceptable.

I think that it will soon run it's course.. I mean there are now cases where boys who identify as being female, running in track meets against girls... I mean where does it stop. Sooner or later the fact that it is "gender dysphoria" will win over. The fact that suicide among those with gender dysphoria is the same whether you allow them to surgically get modified or not.

We are not helping them by appeasing them.

I believe there are a couple of things going on here. First, the reality of having a man with a penis hanging out in the girls locker room because he "self-identifies" as a woman is not something that many young girls are willing to tolerate. Second, young girls are furious that they are being forced to compete with biological men in girl sports. Many young girls have argued that the trans movement has ruined school sports for them.

Trump is fairly liberal when it come to LGBTQ, except for the T, which I don't think he gets.

Oh, people who think are not going to be converted by the anti-LGBTQ crowd.

Trump has so much to be charged with. Why impeach, when the Emperor with no clothes can be held up to the electorate as a symbol in which the country does not wish re-elected.
To be honest, the "T" is something that I don't get either.

Well, if this is true it is just common sense. The LBGTQ culture is royally screwed up . The younger generation is not just being exposed to the dysfunction more than the older generations. But they are also being subjugated to it. I mean if this were ancient Rome or Greece where the dysfunction had been the norm for millennium. Where the average life span was around 30-40. (Or the capitol city of the hunger games) Then they may have nothing with which to judge what they are seeing is dysfunctional. But in the here and now, right next to the dysfunction they see functional people and lifestyles. If I were having this crap forced down my throat as a young person I'd be in full blown rebellion against it.

It is time to awaken:
Isaiah 61:1 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you. 3 And the Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 Lift up your eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to you: your sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at your side.
5 Then you shall see, and flow together, and your heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto you, the wealth of the Nations shall come unto you.

And become like:
Daniel 1:19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

Gee, you don't suppose people are being turned off by the obnoxious public scenes such people are creating, supposedly to bring other people to acceptance of their psychosocial disorders as "normal"??
