I just watched a program I had DVR'd about the Journals of the Inquisition. It was about the Spanish Inquisition which was against only the Conversos - or those Jews who were forced by economics or relationship to "convert" to Catholicism. During the inquisition they were often "outted" as still holding to Judaic ways and tortured and murdered. Interesting - not a far cry from the cries of "judaizer" in the 4th century or indeed today.

Does it not bother anybody that the Council of Laodicea might be what the Messiah referred to in Revelation? In the meantime, many celebrate the Sabbath on the Sabbath - at least until it's understood that God changed the day!
Actually God exerted a new creation and that took place on the first day. The old creation ended on the sixth day and then God rested on the seventh day. You must recognize this new creation and it's superiority over the old creation.

Galatians 6-15:16
For neither is circumcision (the law) anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

That was not a full ecumenical council. Also, the Eastern Orthodox do not call Sunday the Sabbath. The Sabbath day is still the 7th day in Eastern Orthodoxy...
That is the seventh day after the new moon has been sighted. The Jews of Exodus followed a lunar calendar.

Or Judaism at that time were just using a luni-solar calendar and didn't follow the same exact same lunar calendar Moses was using...

No one is arguing that God did not know the Sabbath day. We are debating the observance according to mankind's reckoning.

The Sabbath day in the time of Exodus was based on a lunar calendar. That is why they celebrated the new moon and even Paul mentions the new moon festival in his letter to the Colossian church.

Old Testament Jews used only a lunar calendar there was never a solar calendar in Israel. If you do your research you will find this to be true.

Are you talking about Moedim or the weekly Shabbat.

Which does not alter the meaning of my quotation.

No YOU altered it. It does not say (the law).

Ancient And Religious Calendar Systems

The Near East and the Middle East

The lunisolar calendar, in which months are lunar but years are solar—that is, are brought into line with the course of the Sun—was used in the early civilizations of the whole Middle East, except Egypt, and in Greece. The formula was probably invented in Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennium BCE. Study of cuneiform tablets found in this region facilitatestracing the development of time reckoning back to the 27th century BCE, near the invention of writing.

The calculation of the beginning of a Jewish month and the days counted from the first day of the lunar month.

Not special festivals (Moedim).

What I am talking about is the fact that Israel in the Old Testament, calculated the Sabbath days after the observance of the new moon. Israel used a lunar calendar not a solar calendar which is the calendar that Rome used.

Those who have Jewish neighbors know that they celebrate their New Year’s Day, which they call Rosh Hashana, in the autumn. If we ask a rabbi the date of Rosh Hashana, he will explain that it is the first of the Jewish month Tishri, but that it falls on different dates in our September or October in successive years, since it comes approximately at the new moon. The reason for this is that the Jews have a lunar calendar, now modified in form but originally reckoned by the moon. In ancient times the appearance of the new crescent after sunset, following several moonless nights, marked the beginning of the first day of each new month.

The term 'circumcision' used in the New Testament always refers to the law of Moses. Even the Jews were called the 'circumcision' by Paul in the New Testament.

Ephesians 2:11
Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” (Jews) which is performed in the flesh by human hands.

Colossians 4:11
And also Jesus who is called Justus; these are the only fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are from the circumcision (the Jews).

Romans 15:8-9
For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision (Jews) on behalf of the truth of God to confirm the promises given to the fathers, and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written.

I did not alter what Paul said.

The word 'circumcision' is a general term describing the Jews, care to look at the verses below which proves this usage.

Ephesians 2:11
Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” (Jews) which is performed in the flesh by human hands.

Colossians 4:11

I will raise your quotation.

According to the Mishnah and Tosefta, in the Maccabean, Herodian, and Mishnaic periods, new months were determined by the sighting of a new crescent, with two eyewitnesses required to testify to the Sanhedrin to having seen the new lunar crescent at sunset. Add the following quote from Britannica.

Lunar calendars remain in use among certain religious groups today. The Jewish calendar, which supposedly dates from 3,760 years and three months before the Christian Era (BCE) is one example. The Jewish religious year begins in autumn and consists of 12 months alternating between 30 and 29 days. It allows for a periodic leap year and an intercalary month. Another lunar calendar, the Muslim, dates from the Hegira—July 15, AD 622, the day on which the prophet Muḥammad began his migration from Mecca to Medina. It makes no effort to keep calendric and seasonal years together. (Britannica.science.lunar-calendar)
