It is getting to the point where I refuse to listen or watch it because it takes my joy and makes me mad.
I find things to pray about during the news, especially local news.

No, most (if not all) of the national news is actually fake (there's no law that they have to tell you the truth).

Satan tried to tempt Jesus by offering all of the kingdoms....that tells me ALL...yes, ALL.....ALL of the kingdoms are manipulated or controlled by Satan for the time being. Satan hates mankind and he absolutely hates Christians, he has various devices and traps to trip them and cause roadblocks among them.

The national news belongs to Satan.

Matthew 4:8-9:
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

2 Corinthians 2:11:
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices

Jesus gave us a great commission, it was not in uselesssss politics.

i have certain sources that i go to (depending on the nature of the topics). but even then i'm an independent thinker and sift everything with the truth of what I know from the Bible. the news is still news if you skip the commentators hyperbole.

No, I stopped watching/listening/reading the news.

Its all negative, "click-bait", half-truth stories full of injuries, death, natural disasters, crime and perversions. There is no need for a Christian to fill himself with it.

I also stopped watching events in politics.

My life has much more joy, much less worries and my mind is more clean and simpler.

I don’t really watch or listen to the news in general. Occasionally I do. And if I hear about something I might look up news on it. I also read some news. I like reading local news.

I follow the news to stay informed. Even if the reporting leaves something to be desired, I'll have a better idea of what people are talking about at work. Some of it also impacts my life. Politics and the weather, for instance.

I primarily read the news. I start with my local area then check the news for my state, then I read national and international news stories.
For national and international events I like to read multiple sources and always try to stay away from op-ed pieces.
I rarely listen to the news (unless a traffic report when going into a city). I find most broadcast news is full of spin (left and right) and it just irritates me.
I don't have TV (no desire for it) so any news I listen to (beyond an internet video or site) will be the radio.
