Hi there,

So just a little misconception that the Lord showed me had room to develop: Christian culture says "the day will come when the Holy Spirit will be taken out of the way" (based on Thess.). But what or who has the strength to manipulate where the Holy Spirit is or is not?

The answer to this question is that the Holy Spirit has asked to be held back, that it is within Him to restrain almost any who would want Him out of the way - but more than that, the Holy Spirit is held from taking a greater place.

What is mysterious, is that it is not what holds Him back that He, the Holy Spirit, wrestles with: but that he that would hold Him back, would dare hold Jesus back!

So it is that the Holy Spirit, even when He is free, knows to advance Jesus first, and Him for the sake of God in the Holy Spirit!

I don't know, I just find that fascinating.

But when the Rapture happens, and all the genuine Spirit-filled believers are taken up to meet the Lord in the air, the Holy Spirit, who indwells those believers will go with them. This is because the Holy Spirit is not some kind of indeterminate mist that is located somewhere outside of genuine Christian believers.

So, once the Holy Spirit leaves with the genuine believers, there will then be nothing to hold back the appearance of the AntiChrist, world government and false religion, and the great tribulation.

That day is closer than we think, because world events are rapidly progressing toward a one-world government, cashless society maybe requiring a tattoo ID number, or microchip, and there are calls for a universal religion unifying the Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim faiths. Israel has been reinstituted as a nation, as prophesied thousands of years ago. So this means that the Rapture of genuine Christian believers could happen at any time, and then the AntiChrist will appear.

I completely agree. The only thing I would add is that the Holy Spirit will not end His earthly ministry just because He is no longer acting as a restraining influence. There will still be many saved during the tribulation; which is the Holy Spirit acting in them.

The Holy Spirit's job of restraining the lawless one is just one of his responsibilities. He no longer needs to do that because of the events set in motion by the tribulation, but His other ministry -- bringing believers to salvation -- will continue.

I always wondered.. who has.. on earth all power over the enemy? The Church. Within that is the sweet sweet Holy Spirit. For me.. as long as we are still here the enemy can never come out in the open. <--this is not what the verse says.. how I read it.

Once the Rapture happens, the day of grace and salvation will be over. The Holy Spirit does not work outside of genuine Christian believers. He came first to the 120 in the upper room and filled them. They, being led and moved by the Holy Spirit within them made disciples for Christ.

There are some who believe that the Holy Spirit is some kind of bodily form who hovers around in churches and other places, but that is not Scriptural. There is no presence of the Holy Spirit where there are no believers. A church building is just an empty space, until the believers enter and bring the Holy Spirit in with them. The gospel is preached in the power of the Holy Spirit through the preacher.

So, after the Rapture, there will be no presence of the Holy Spirit in the world, because there will be no believers for Him to indwell.

You don't believe there will be tribulation saints? There are many who believe there will be the greatest soul harvest during the tribulation than the world have ever seen.

No you got it wrong , Holy Spirit is restraining the evil one untill he is taken out of the way for him to come to power and deceive nations for 7 years in tribulation .

There is no mention of a the greatest soul harvest during the tribulation, in the New Testament. What has been prophesied is that there will be general falling away, deception of the whole world through the AntiChrist with his false signs and wonders.

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;​

and is told:

Revelation 7:14 These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The Holy Spirit was present at creation, Genesis 1:2, the Lord put his breath, or Spirit, in Adam, Genesis 2:7 and the Spirit was with certain others in the OT; Judges 13:25, 1 Samuel 10:6, 1 Samuel 10:10, 1 Samuel 16:13, Psalms 51:11, Ezekiel 37, Joel 2:28 etc.

You will find that through the OT, the Holy Spirit came upon people and worked through them. He never worked independently of them. The Holy Spirit descended on Jesus at His baptism by John and worked with Him during His ministry. The notion that the Holy Spirit is some type of force or influence that works outside of believers is non-Biblical, and borders on the occult.

Apart from creation, that's probably true.
I read your statement as; "unless there are genuine Christian believers, there will be no Holy Spirit" - which was, no doubt wrong and my fault for reading it like that. In the OT, people were Jews.

In the OT the Holy Spirit did not indwell those whom God wanted to use. He came upon the people, and once the job was done, the Holy Spirit departed.

But Paul is quite definite that those who have the indwelling Holy Spirit are genuinely converted Christian believers. When Paul asked the Galatians, "When you received the Holy Spirit?"...etc. He meant, "When you were converted to Christ?"...etc.

Therefore, when the Rapture happens and all the genuinely converted believers leave this world, the Holy Spirit will depart as well, because there will be no one left for Him to indwell.
