Decided to start a new thread on this, as it is different from the insider video. Project Veritas has released an alleged email from Google:

BREAKING: New Google Document Leaked Describing Shapiro, Prager, as ‘nazis using the dogwhistles’ – Project Veritas

It includes the following:

Today it is often 1 or 2 steps to nazis. If we understand that PragerU, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro et al are nazis using the dog whistles you mention in step 1. I can receive these recommendations regardless of what I am looking at, and I have recorded thousands of internet users sharing the same experience.

I don’t think correctly identifying far-right content is beyond our capabilities. But if it is, why not go with Meredith’s suggestion of disabling the suggestion feature?”

It appears to references the nuances of their AI, and whether they are able to cut off recommendations to extreme content. It is unclear wording. I think she is generally indicating that people watching those videos are often then recommended Nazi content two steps later, if they keep following the prompts of the AI. But then she also says she can receive those recommendations regardless of what she is looking at. I think here she means she can receive recommendations for Ben Shapiro, etc. not Nazi content. But then the AI can go on to recommend Nazi cotent.

The email does not include the date portion. There was a similar concern expressed in March to the CEO of Youtube, in which Wojcicki was taking questions and Kara Swisher, a co-founder of Recode, said the following:

My son, who is 13 years old, started watching Ben Shapiro videos. And he’s like the gateway drug to the next group. And then it goes right to Jordan Peterson, then it goes down and in three clicks he was in Neo-Nazi stuff. It was astonishing. And then I had to listen to it at dinner. And I was sort of like, “I’m going to kill Susan Wojcicki first.”

https://www.vox.com/podcasts/2019/3...walkout-kara-swisher-decode-podcast-interview

Leftist Exec Hates Her Son Watching Shapiro Videos, Says She’d Like Shapiro Banned From YouTube. Shapiro Fires Back.

Since the same problem is related, and two of the three creators referenced are the same, the email that Project Veritas posted may be a follow-up to that discussion.

Prager and Shapiro are religious Jews, and so do not promote Nazi material. The AI takes what you are watching and then suggests other content you may like. This can be both liberal, or conservative, or even some views outside of the norm.

What exactly is Nazi to these people since they are targeting people (calling them Nazi's) who are the furthest from such a thing.

There should be a thread with clear concise definitions, explaining versus name calling without any explanation whatsoever.

It is unclear to me what the person is saying. I think they may not be saying that Shapiro etc. are literally nazis, but that their content leads to nazi material in their own algorithm. Now that of course is their issue, since it is their AI. But the remedy of killing suggestions, if it is selectively applied--and that is an if--would be a problem.

If it is not selectively applied, then that might make more sense. However, the suggested next video algorithm is responsible for a lot of the videos played for folks.

Their algorithm jumps from Ben Shapiro to literal Natzi's for a next video suggestion, and I think they would like to stop that.

They should be questioning why the algorithm thinks this and I think one of them suggested that it was because they were using "dog whistles" to get a certain audience on board.

Or maybe they just don't understand their own algorithms. Which is probably the case.

I can see why a computer might have a problem picking through right wing thought in that a lot of groups of that ilk are open to conspiracy theory's, regardless of where they end up with it.

That isn't even the definition of being a Nazi's which is synonymous with the National socialist party (and they killed children). They were like the party OF death not the ones against it.

Pretty sure that's what Tuxame was saying. Interesting you inferred the opposite.

Decided to start a new thread on this

Why?

Why? why? why?

It's 1 email out of what is clearly a long thread about issues with their AI engine for next vid prediciton. I mean seriously...

WHY???????

Because the other thread revolved around the editing of videos. This one does not because it is a separate revelation to the others, and does not involve video.

We should all go to a specific video of Ben's then each of us present a picture of what is in our suggestions.

I went to Ben's channel but I haven't gotten any Nazi stuff suggested to me. They hate Gavin Mcinnes (who has been banned from the platform) and a video of him on Joe Rogan's show was suggested.

(((shakes in booties)))^_^

But seriously thats all I got. Were just being manipulated thats what I believe.

I do remember being shown white nationalist content once, a debate involving a progressive and a race realist. But I don't think it was from Ben Shapiro. It usually serves me up some Fox news video lately after Ben Shapiro, because they want to push to big media. If I watch Jimmy Dore it might try to push me to a liberal big media.

Or sometimes it just pushes NBA content, because I watch that as well, and they push ESPN and FS1.

How is one out of context email from a chain about a misbehaving AI a revelation?

The guy who went into the mosque and killed folks checked the Twitter feed of Ben Shapiro a lot. The same Ben Shapiro that tweets out things like saying Arabs like to bomb stuff and live in sewage. The same guy who made a video claiming that the majority of Muslims were radicalized and wanted to kill people in the West. The shooter visited Ben's twitter more than anybody else's Twitter.

Why do we suppose that is? Might it be it isn't too far of a stretch to see a line between Ben Shapiro and white nationalists when a white nationalist visited his twitter a lot before deciding to kill the same kind of folks that Shapiro hates?

Prager has given a platform to people who seem pretty darn cozy with white supremacist ideas because he hates the left more than he hates them.

I think discussions of limiting recommendations and saying that three conservative commentators are nazi dog whistlers is a bit of a revelation. Especially since Google has said before the Senate today that they are a platform for all political, religious, etc. views.

Two of the people they said were dog whistles are Jews, and at least Shapiro (I don't listen to Prager so I wouldn't know about him), regularly denounces the alt-right, Trump's soft response to the alt-right in the run-up to the election, and receives threats from Nazi and white supremacist groups frequently.

It's kind of a strange bedfellows type situation. Happens on the left too, don't get me wrong, but a person who's a white supremacist will love Ben's views on Muslims, Arabs, and the West in general. Probably doesn't like that Ben is a Jew and probably doesn't like Jews, but, you know, Ben's probably one of the "good ones".

If you want to criticize Shapiro on some of his rhetoric against the Palestinians then I will agree with you. Some are quite harsh.

On the other hand he is equally harsh in criticizing white nationalists since they threaten him personally the most.

I typically ignore the suggestions. I am actually new to that Jimmy Dore. I don't watch everything he puts out but he does have some real zingers. I really like Tim Pool or his other Channel Tim Cast and a handful of others. None of them related to the others (or agree with the other) when it comes to who they voted for or being of the same party or whatever. So I guess it would be harder for some of my suggestions to make sense.

Yeah, but some are not saying he is one of the good ones. One man was arrested for credible death threats for instance:

I set mine so that it does not autoplay. That way I am always choosing the next content rather than accepting what it does next.
