Sure, confuse the kid even more.

Hedrick is right though. There's a massive difference between, "There is no such thing as boys and girls" and "Some people aren't boys or girls". The first one is straight up false, and the latter is true--there are people who aren't. For example intersex individuals.

Getting outraged by the "I identify as an Apache helicopter" crowd shouldn't undermine the very real existence of people whose biology doesn't fit neat and tidy into our little boxes. We live in a complicated and messy world--as Christians we are obligated to engage that world, not pretend it doesn't exist.

Kids need to be taught a whole lot of things at that age, but gender fluidity is a concern best reserved until after the kid at least hits puberty and has a fighting chance of understanding that her teacher is a loon. Some things are best taught by the parents, not some wacky stranger in a secular institution.

We are not speaking of intersex individuals. And I think you know that.

Mark 10:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

This is the word of God..

All this "gender fluidity" is a sign of the times as Satan tries to destroy all the things that God made and saw that it was good.

I suppose these parents should comfort their daughter by explaining the teacher does not know there are differences between boys and girls and is wrong. I remember Ontario once elected a lesbian to be their premier.

A person usually has sex organs for male or female, not both. That is not enough to convince gender confused persons of their sex.

When I was young, I heard a Bible toting street preacher standing near the intersection of two paths in a park preaching emphatically that homosexuallity is wrong. I believed him as I thought God approved of his message. There are thousands of other messages a person may need along life's pathways.

Might as well start now to tell your kids that they don't have to believe everything that their teachers tell them... and.. to question everything.

None of this is a surprise. First it was please don't persecute us, we are people. Then it was please accept us we are like you. Then it was please respect us we are good. Then the tables turned and it became we don't respect you because you have a different standard. That makes you a phobic, a person of lesser regard and lacking in decency and love. The shoe has changed feet. It will continue on. There are more practices waiting in the wings for their day in the sun. Child molesters are just like us. People who want to marry their pets are just like us. Only difference is their day has not yet dawned, but it will. God has said "I will restore the fortunes of Sodom." It's happening right before our eyes. Genesis 19:12-13. "We are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it." The outcry of the righteous will be the engine that moves God's hand. Then you will hear: "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit,.... she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her."

I saw a video of a guy who went to a University campus. He interviewed several students and the shtick was the same each time.
First, he asked about their feelings on Gender fluidity, confusion etc. They obviously are programed to think its OK.
Second, he, himself, identifies as a female.. They are all OK with this and accept that "fact".
Third, he identifies that he is six feet tall, when he is obviously not... Now, the student is caught in the trap, They cannot contradict this feeling that he has... or.. they would not be able to continue with the acceptance of him thinking he's a female. So... they say "well, if that's how you feel, then I accept it.

In the end... it is quite hilarious... all the students he spoke to accepted him as a six foot tall, Asian Woman... without any ability to tell him that he was not any of these things...

This is the world we live in.... Kids are at a loss or afraid to stand up and state that blatantly obvious things are true and just because you feel a certain way ....... the actual truth is unchanged.

In this case I don't think a teacher should try to convince people about the ethics. That's not the point. The point is that they're going to other kids with non-traditional gender and sexual identity, and they're expected to treat them with respect. The existence of such people is true.

Except they appear to be teaching all students about this transgender ideology. I'm also highly skeptical of kids as young as six being able to determine for themselves what 'gender' they believe themselves to be. They barely know anything and are only just beginning to grasp ABC and 123.

This isn't about teaching students to respect men who think they are women. It's about conditioning them to accept this as a new social reality and not question it. Would they tolerate a student insisting on calling a boy who thinks another student is a girl a boy? Doubt it.

It is in effect to teach an unreality.

You're welcome to think it's a bad idea, but it's not an unreality. Students need to know they're going to see it. Getting them to use the chosen name can be lifesaving. Using Chosen Names Reduces Odds of Depression and Suicide in Transgender Youths - UT News. Many schools are going to care more about that than conservative ideology.

Six-year olds don't need to understand the details of gender. They just need to know that they may see other kids who want to be called "she" rather than "he" or visa versa. This isn't beyond a 6 year old.

Let children be children.

My parent's generation for the most part did not know about half the stuff they are teaching five year olds today, until they were in early adulthood. It didn't do them any harm. A couple of generations ago people didn't quite know what a homosexual was for the most part, and "trans" as that is now understood simply was not comprehensible. Even as recent as the 1980s most people found it hard to comprehend the idea of a "sex change" operation (biological sex of course cannot be changed - only cosmetic changes can be made)

All this at present is being driven by shouty lobbying groups. But what they are doing and calling for is neither in the interests of children, or those minorities that the shouty activists claims to represent, because society will inevitably (and already has begun to) push back on these matters.

That rather short article seem like an example of the irresponsible use of self-harm statistics.

To be balanced and I don't think its good to use the stats for self-harm of those in transition or post transition in isolation either, but to be balanced any responsible article would quote both in this regard. But what do they tell us, they can't always tell us why someone committed suicide.

There has been solid research done on persistence and desistence.

steensma2013.pdf

But the transgender activists and lobby groups won't accept it unless it supports their brand of identity politics.

How do we recognise an ideology? By the fact that those in the grip of it refer to biology as "someone's personal views", and feel a need to try and discredit other research instead of just letting science self-correct (where it is amiss) as study continues.

Its known on solid research that desistance is a high percentage and that going through puberty can help, that is if they haven't been fast-tracked down another path, hence the best practice as recognised by professionals who understand gender dysphoria has been "watchful waiting", and not rushing a young person along a course that goes from name change to externally administered hormones, and perhaps on to surgery, but which never actually results and cannot result in a change of sex.

The activists are responsible for much of the harm being done. Their ideology is actually part of the cause of the disconnect between gender and sex. Lets get one thing straight here a child going through a period of gender dysphoria (previously GID Gender Identity Disorder) which can vary in intensity is not "Trans." Neither are they certain they want to change sex or gender (most men for instance do not go on to have surgery) - so pushing them to a decision at an early age is simply wrong, especially when there can be underlying issues, that could be successfully addressed.

Yes we now have state approved gas lighting of 1st graders and kindergartners. The state is helping to raise a whole generation that will need to seek therapy. I wonder if those people will ever be able to sew for damages.

Quite possibly those rushed down a course of gender transitioning and chemical blocking might be able to sue, perhaps in an pro-bono, or a group action.

I thought it was a teacher's duty to tell their students the truth.
Teachers follow a coriculum set out by the school board. They are not supposed to place their own views on the children.

However, today, this whole "gender fluidity" is pushed by academia. Humans are either male or female. Except for the very few that are in possession of both and other rare anomalies.

Any mental association the person has is a recognized mental condition: Gender dysphoria.

We do not help people if we enable them to continue thinking that they are something else.

The suicide rate for people with "Gender Dysphoria" is the same whether they are given surgery to transform to the mental ideals... or remain in their birth form of sex... It is 40%.

We do not help mental people, who may hear voices, if we tell them that the voices are real. We do not help people with OCD if we tell them that it is normal to wash their hands 20 times every half hour on the half hour...

Why, then, are we telling boys that they are really women and cutting them up to fit their mental ideals?

The biggest "tell" that associates this with Satan is the fact that they stole the one sign that God gave to all humanity... the rainbow.... and changed it to fit an ungodly and unhealthy earthly ideal.

I don't think we should ridicule or belittle these people. They are human souls and loved by God.. but we should not appease their sickness.

I don't agree, if the video had been solely about intersex that would be different, it doesn't seem to about that, and really gender dysphoria is a bit different. In most cases of atypical genitialia at birth, there is no need to call in a sex differentiation specialist. So to say intersex children are neither boys or girls is wrong, as most are assigned to be one or other at birth. The article states that the video material the teacher used said "some people are not boys or girls" (which could be confusing without further clarification which might be beyond the comprehension of a 6 year old) and that the teacher went on to tell the children "there are no such thing as boys or girls" (untrue as pointed out).

It might be a good deal truer to say that "a few people are not sure if they want to be a boy or want to be a girl." but really to explain the whole matter to a child is too complicated, as you have to then explain that some children are "non-conforming to gender roles" but may not have gender dysphoria, plus it risks opening a whole can of worms and children with low-intensity gender dysphoria, may become worried.

I'm not sure what this article has to do with the original point. It does not deny that there are people born as boys who dress and act as girls and visa versa, which is about all that you'd likely say to a 6 year old.

The fact that 80% of children (but not necessarily teens) change their minds is well known. It's up to the parents and doctors of children how to deal with it, whether to do social transition or not, and in what way. The article agrees with that. It also recommends not trying to block "gender-variant behaviors."

You may be aware that some experts are now saying that while 80% of children revert to their birth gender, it's possible to tell that some won't. This article actually gives some evidence of that.

Furthermore, kids live in a world with adults and older kids. We teach 6 year olds about aspects of adult life, such as various occupations.

It is certainly wrong to say that there's no such thing as girls and boys. That's just silly.
