If you keep sinning after yoluve been saved are you still saved? Jesus promises in John 6:37-40 to not lose one single believer but do believers continue to sin after they've been saved? Like for example say you're caught in the same set of sins are you still saved? Even if you cannot stop doing those same sins over and over again? Like say you like to use Christs name in vain a lot or if you swear a lot or if you're stuck in one particular sin is that person still given to Jesus by God the Father and eternally secure?

Let’s start with this. Where in that passage does Jesus say He will not lose one single believer?

Seeing that, in reality, we all sin after we were converted to Christ, does that mean that when you sin, you are no longer saved, and according to the Scripture you quoted, there is no way back to Christ for you? Do you really believe that??

Oscarr, those that quote that think that they haven’t quite sinned enough to be lost.

Here's a good one:
John 6:39
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day.

Right. And if He does, it causes a split in the Trinity.

I don't think they have the sound appreciation of the sinfulness of sin, and if that is so, then their conversion to Christ can only be half-hearted, and that Justification and Salvation are pretty well meaningless words to them.

Genuine believers don't have a lifestyle of premeditated, willful sin, but they do sin out of weakness; and the reality is that after conversion, because sin is so sinful, it sticks to us like dog poop to our shoe. We know it is there, and try to get rid of it because it stinks and is unpleasant!

All those who continue in KNOWN UNREPENTANT sin will not enter into the KINGDOM of Heaven because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-27; 1 JOHN 2:3-4.

It is only those who CONTINUE to the END enduring temptation BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's WORD that JESUS promises not to lose. Those who do not BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD are not His people and therefore have no claim to God's promises.

Need more scriptures (linked)???

CAN YOU LOSE YOUR SALVATION BY NOT BEING FAITHFUL TO THE END?

CAN A BELIEVER FALL AWAY FROM GOD AND BECOME AN UNBELIEVER?

BORN AGAIN WITH GOD'S SPIRIT? CAN GOD'S SPIRIT LEAVE US?

ARE WE SAVED FROM SIN OR SAVED IN SIN - (TO CONTINUE TO SIN)?

CAN YOU HAVE GOD'S GRACE WITHOUT GOD'S LAW?

ARE YOU READY FOR THE MARK OF THE BEAST?

WHO IS GOD'S TRUE CHURCH ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD?

WHO DO YOU FOLLOW THE TRADITIONS OF MEN OR THE WORD OF GOD (JESUS)?

WAS THE FIRST LIE IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN YOU CAN BREAK GOD'S LAW AND NOT SURELY DIE?

IS IT SIN TO BREAK THE 10 COMMANDMENTS? (Yep!)

God bless.

In all the churches I have been associated with, I have seen less than three or four people who I think have had major willful sin issues. The vast majority of believers have been godly folk whose greatest desire is to live holy lives for the Lord. You must be surrounded by religious hypocrites pretending to be Christian!

Those with new hearts will not live a life without repentance. So no need to try to scare people with a false gospel.

I rely on these verses a great deal. I am glad for those of you who never sin. But as a believer for only 48 years. I am still in need of these.

1 John 2
1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

A good point. If believers no longer sin after conversion, why do we need an advocate in heaven to plead for us before the Father?

"Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?" Romans 6:16 NIV

Along with the above,
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 NIV

Another way of putting the question: Is salvation a one-off event or a process? In a one-off event, a believer is immediately saved, and then is purified. In a process, a believer has to wait until the day of judgement, when Jesus separates the goat from the sheep. Since the 16th century, with the advent of the Reformation, the debate has been raging, and today, as can be seen in this forum, remains keenly contested.

Einstein said: 'insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results'. We need a different approach to Bible interpretation.

I got it from the verses I quoted in the OP (John 6:37-40).

"All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day."

Obviously salvation is a once for all process. I wasn't trying to state that it wasn't especially when Hebrews 10:10 says that it is

"10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."

But my question was more along the lines of "What sinners does Christ save? Those who don't fall into constant sin after salvation? Or those who come to him for salvation?

Obviously we cannot be sinless after salvation but will a saved person not fall into constant sin?

I guess another way to phrase my question would be "What saves a person?" and "After we are saved just how much will we sin exactly?"

I mean I guess I'm saying that a person who lives in a state of constant sin is not a saved born again Christian because the Holy Spirit works to convict us of sin and helps us wage war against our sin.

"Obviously salvation is a once for all process" Looking at the debates in this forum, it cannot be that obvious.

"What saves a person?"
Paul says: "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved" (Romans 10:9). Notice that there are two conditions.

Luke teaches: 'Believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved' (Acts 16:30-31). But note that the Bible has its own meaning of believe (see John 11:25-26).

Jesus says: 'Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day (John 6).'

If anybody has found a way to 100% stop sinning after coming to faith or are "saved", what's your secret? And can I have it? PM me.
