So are you saying we shouldn't be happy or something like that?
and that i should start disliking my life to get saved?
I am come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly. You should be in perfect peace, if your mind is stayed on him. You should not be desiring death or any end.....for in Christ you pass from death to life. Never to die again....

It’s very human for you to feel that way, especially that you just became a follower of Christ. I at one point of my life I was scared I wasn’t ready and I didn’t want Jesus to come yet because I wasn’t ready. Earthly desires, Some of my family wasn’t right with God.
At this point of my life (our life) we still struggle is part of life. We can conquer all through Christ. The main key to understand everything is (Prayer) read the Bible.
What helped me from thinking that way (God Please not today) was submitting myself to God, praying, worshiping, reading the Bible. Pray for wisdom, wisdom to understand his word, wisdom to see life the way He does,,so that God can enlighten you and you’ll be able to understand better.
God knows your heart ❤️ he knows your needs, proclaim your victory. Faith is key to everything, have faith that God will bring your father back. Pray that God may give him a new heart.
Everything is possible through Jesus, as long as you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can tell that mountain to move and it’ll move. (Matthew 17:20) stay connected to God. He never fails us, it might take some time but remember to keep your faith trust God.
My family is getting closer to God little by little, and they never served God. Why? How? By Prayer, faith! All Glory to God !! I ll keep you in prayer, & I have faith that your train of thought will change & your father will start following Jesus again. By you going to church serving God little by little God will reveal his glory and minister to you father through you !! Keep fighting that good fight ! God bless you! Stay strong !

I find it a little selfish to desire for God to come and wash away the wicked just because I feel that I am no longer one of them.

What if this desire was granted by Christians before we got "saved". We'd all be lost.

Woe to those who desire to be the single winner to cross the finish line, ending the race for all....instead of waiting to encourage, help and congratulate those who would cross after us........

Good point.
Sometimes we find ourselves a little selfish.
Once again I come to a point of repentance.

Before when i wasn't really with god / barely believing i was scared of the 2nd coming but after i i learned more about jesus and started to actually believe and have actual faith in him i wasn't scared anymore. But am still not ready i feel like it i also get what you mean i Enjoy life from what god gave to me. I Don't enjoy what the world has become today i sometimes also wish that i would just die when i'm angry and for jesus to take me up to heaven.

Perhaps one could be needing some self improvement...in the way of holy living, or perhaps you'd like to finish a task you are working on for the Lord...good reasons to want time. But, perhaps one's head isn't in the right direction yet and just want to indulge in more worldly fun and whatnot...that's just immaturity and yes, a type of wrong.

:) Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

Now its clear you love the Father. But what you dont understand is.. this world is like looking through a muddy glass. Now drop that glass and THATS what your Father made for you. He has so much for you.. you will EXP LOAD.. really.. with JOY!

I think liking to be alive if that's what you mean, and loving the world are two different things that can be confused confused. We all like to be alive, and we can like our Christian life. We are told we can live it even more abundantly in Christ so it is clear we are to enjoy being alive.

The actual scripture does after all say it's our worldly life we should not love, not our life in Christ.

John 12:25
New International Version
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

As to you not wanting Christ to return yet, I get what others are saying but there are good reasons to feel that way too...so that more can be saved, something i see was just mentioned. There may be more reasons I don't know of.

Can you tell us why you'd rather he not return at this moment?

For me one of those reasons is chocolate was invented by men using machines (cocoa beans are not even sweet right off hte tree), so in a world with only nature, I can't eat my favorite food anymore. I never say chocolate is more important than my Bible, of course, and I understand food addictions will disappear the day Jesus returns. But I cna't imagine my life being perfect without food that is made in a factory.

You and a million others of us. :)

As I understand it there will be no need for food in heaven, however we may still be able to eat and if that is so, i have little doubt chocolate will be there.

It is said Jesus will give us a big mansion with all of the things we want in heaven. If true, I can still eat a ton of sweet stuff while soaking in the beauty o;f ornate designs, flowers, and waterfalls in the gardens. I will be elated to get all of these things in heaven but someone needs to come down from there to confirm this is the heaven we look forward too, not just white clouds, angels, spirits, and the Lord Himself.

Form what I gather it'll be much more than clouds and such. I can't pinpoint it now, maybe someone else will, but as I recall, we won't believe how good things are there. I mean if there isn't food, sex, TV, whatever we enjoyed here, there will we something 100 times better. Things of which we had no idea existed.

It's a matter of enjoying the good things of creation that are here for us. We reject the powers and principalities that rule in wickedness, spiritual, sensual and physical. The world system is ruled by Satan, the prince of the power of the air found in scripture. I enjoy creation, I love God, love my neighbor, wife , kids and I reject the world system.

So i can't even like the ground of earth or Like ANYTHING? on earth?

The earth is good, the world is not, they are two different things. there are many magnificent good things on the earth that are very wholesome to enjoy, so yes, you can like the ground and then some, animals, plants, rivers, mountains, all of natures wonders. They are why camping, hiking ans such are so popular, and all those things are not the world.

The earth is a physical place where we live, our home for now, while the term "world", as it is used in the bible, is a way of life for those who don't have God. The two terms are easily confused, especially if we look them up in the dictionary, some definitions show earth/world to be the same thing.

Again, the bible always uses the term world as I mentioned, and as in "worldly" meaning we are of the world, meaning we like what is ungodly or the things of the world, all the fun sin such as sleeping around, drugs, bars, clubs...things that are considered evil by those not of the world. We have to live around, and work in the world, but we don't have to be of the world.

More input on this from others might be helpful.

I think the main question of the OP : is it wrong for a Christian to not want the Lord to come back yet? I believe that every Christian struggles with fleshly desires versus spiritual desires. We have to walk daily in the Spirit and have trust and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. This can be difficult if you are wanting what the world offers instead of what Christ offers. We all should try to have the attitude of" occupy until He comes" like the scripture says. This subject is not a salvation issue. Just because one is happy or content with life doesn't mean you are not saved. It is where your heart is. Trusting and having faith that Christ died for our sins and believing this in your heart is the salvation issue. One must pray for spiritual desires and not earthy desires. This can be difficult at times because the enemy can pull at us and also we live in a fallen world. Remember to trust in Christ.

I find it a little selfish to desire for God to come and wash away the wicked just because I feel that I am no longer one of them.

It depends on one's heart. If one hates the wicked so much, then it might be selfish to think that way.

But if one thinks for the sake of the "greater good" then it's a good thing to desire for Christ's return.

This world is corrupted by sin, thus, no longer working according to God's original design. Even animals eating each other. Us humans, eating meat. This wasn't the original plan in Genesis.

There is no reason to desire the corruption brought upon our world.
