No. They have found no evidence of legal wrong doing. It’s just a matter of not liking the president that was elected. The whole thing is very sad.

If a person doesn’t want a republican president, they should vote for another party in the next election. Impeaching the president for being of the wrong party or to try to prevent future presidents of that party is a waste of time and an abuse of the system.

What about impeaching because the president committed a felony?

That would be different. Impeaching because of felony is exactly what the process is for. And yet.... there is no evidence of a felony. All I see is a mad scramble to oust a president just because he won the election and some political leaders don’t like the outcome of that election. It looks like nothing more than a temper tantrum to me.

There is plenty of evidence of a felony. Anybody but the President would probably be on trial right now.

Do you support the Democrats trying to Impeach the President?

Yes or no and why.
I wish they would just do it and fail in the Senate and get it out of their system. Too much talk right now. Of course if they try and they fail, what's to stop them from impeaching again and again.

If I were a Democrat I would drop the whole impeachment thing because it makes the Democrats look bad. If I were a Republican I would cautiously behind the scenes promote impeachment as it makes the Democrats look bad. It's a colossal waste of time and effort.

Is Trump guilty of the Russia thing? I don't see it. He is guilty of being a boor, but honestly I suspect that any non-Democrat would be up for consideration of impeachment no matter who they were or what they did or didn't do.

I voted yes because I believe it will result in not just another four years of Trump. But possibly 12 years of Republican Presidents.

It took me a few minutes to understand what you were saying. I get the point that it would be damaging to the Democrats and a win for Republicans, but I think it would be a very dangerous precedent to set. Unless there is a crime during his time in office, I see no reason to impeach.

Oh really? And what evidence of what felony would that be?

Impeachment is a purely political process.

The precedent was already set in the 90s.

Nor is he correct. High crimes and misdemeanors are grounds for impeachment... Donald need not shoot someone on Fifth Avenue in order for Congress to call him to account for his wrongs.

Furthermore, we should remember that should he be impeached and convicted, Congress has a variety of remedies available... booting Donald out on his keister, while amusing, is only one (and indeed, one of the most severe) options.

That's exactly why I don't support it.

If that's all you see, then you're not looking. In fact, I would argue that you would have to be willfully overlooking the things that he's done. Trump directed his lawyer to commit campaign finance violations and attempted on multiple occasions to obstruct justice. That the impeachment calls are more motivated by politics than by true righteous indignation doesn't mean that your guy isn't a crook.
