One of the most remarkable things of Christ's Passion that we don't talk about:
Luke 23:12: Herod and Pilate became friends that very day, even though they had been enemies formerly.
'Tis an odd extra step in the Passion narrative, to bring Jesus to Herod, and then right back. Why would God influence things to make this extra step happen? I can't say for sure, of course, but Christ's stronger-than-death love & mercy reached out far enough to make these 2 leaders become friends. And who can say what impact this had for the politics of the region? Less bickering, I'm sure!
Just something I've been thinking about, and I just came across it while reading about St. Manaen, so I felt I should share it.
May God bless us all & foster more friendships between enemies!
