It is called biased reporting - casting a positive or negative light on a person according to personal persuasion or beliefs. It's not reporting news - it is promoting one political objective over another.

I am unsure of the OP’s point-of-view: I would assume that the companies, (in some cases, foundations or other, privately funded organizations) will couch news items in a way that best puts forward their own particular point-of-view, (goals, policies) while presenting the facts.

You cannot have “market based journalism” and expect a “just the facts reporting style”!
Competition amongst various outlets will always provide color for the “news”!

(You can get a “just the facts” style but usually it tends to be “The Official News that has been cleared as 100% pure by The-Powers-That-Be”, and nobody wants THAT? Do we?)

Right, but “the press” (as the media used to be called), has always had “a side”.
Without a free-press, (free to frame the facts with whatever “biases” each news outlet desires to imbue while presenting “facts”), then we would be given a story devoid of nuance, upshot, and yes, spin.

There is a world of difference between bias reporting that disrupts (or a "flowering") facts and bias reporting that is simply untrue.

What I see his supporters doing is claiming ALL news reports about Trump that don't have a positive bias be labelled as untrue; regardless of whether it is a disruption of facts or all lies. This is just intellectually lazy in my mind.
