I love the music of Eden's Bridge. Traditional favourites as well as their own compositions, sung in a Celtic style.

"Just as I am, Thou wilt receive
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve
Because Thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God, I come."

A joyful celebratory song for our God from His Church that is expressing utter joy in Him.

i suspect it is similar to the utter joy David was overflowing with when he danced before the Lord with all his might.

This is not really music, but i recently found, of all things, a video on Youtube of the far-off sounds of train whistles, off in the distance.

I love those sounds. :)
I love the sound of train whistles. A few weeks ago I went to a local tourist attraction, the Severn Valley Railway, which is a 14 mile journey by steam! I loved the old railway carriages, the old fashioned service, and the stations restored to their original state!

What a rich and historical experience. :)

The sounds of train whistles inexplicably calm and comfort me.

I keep promising my friend we'll do a proper steam railway holiday experience sometime. With overnight cabins and a restaurant service. A bit like the Hercule Poirot days!

I enjoy the singing of Katherine Jenkins, the Welsh beauty, who has so much variety from opera to pop. So many songs about faith, hope and love too!

Personally, I'm all bluegrass, and Folk. And in Church music, I'm strongly traditional. What I really don't like is to Start a traditional hymn, but re-orchestrate it like modern 7-11 stuff. ON the other hand our congregation gets into the contemporary stuff, and there's a table outside the sanctuary with a sign: TOO LOUD?? And a box of earplugs. all I have to do is turn off my "Miracle Ears".

All welcome with differing tastes in music but one in Christ!
It's good to have differing tastes in music. Music is very diverse and there to be enjoyed. Music is also a way of expressing our praise and worship to God.
My favourite 'secular' music are songs from the 1970's through to the late 1990's early 2000's, film music, classical and orchestral music, choral music, some types of jazz, blues and country music. Not particularly keen on R'n'B and some of the modern chart music.
My favourite church music include old hymns from Hymns Ancient & Modern and Hymns for Today's Church. I love plainchant, songs from the Taize and Iona communities, plus some of the more contemporary songs from writers such as Graham Kendrick, Keith & Kristyn Getty. When I was at university, I learned to play a lot of the hymns in the Redemption Hymnal which was very popular in the local AoG church.

'The hills are alive with the sound of music. The hills fill my soul with the sound of music,my heart wants to sing every song it hears..' (Julie Andrews)
Such a great musical and film! A must-watch every year!
