~*:sorry:Admins, feel free to move this thread if it doesn't go here, I'm new:sorry: *~

I listen to the books on Audible, in the car, on my 35 minutes commutes to/from work M-F.
I listen to one or two chapters of the bible (YouVersion app) and then at least one chapter of a a book. So far, I've listened to
-A Praying Life (Paul Miller)
-Captivating (John and Stasi Eldridge)
-1000 Gifts (Ann Voskamp)

I'm listening to:
-Lord Change My Attitude Before it's Too Late (Macdonald)

I downloaded to listen to later:
-The Resolution for Women
-It's Not Supposed to Be This Way (Teurkherst)

Has anyone here read/listened to these books, any of them, before?
Is anyone interested in discussing the takeaways and how they bettered your personal walk with Christ?
Would someone like to read one with me now?

I'd like to have a discussion like we would if this was smallgroups.

Since this is in the section titled "deeper fellowship",
perhaps it is right then to point out that most of those/ most of most books lead to weaker fellowship, often opposed to Christ, and called "another gospel" instead of the one true gospel -- as if leading to accepting everyone no matter what they do,
instead of
judging rightly, seeing and using God's Judgment, in Ekklesia, as written throughout Scripture.

Ok well it was worth a shot. None of my friends here in town have the time right now. I just wanted someone to study with who could help me grow in my faith and vice versa, a 2-way street.

I haven't read any of those books, but I have read a number of others.
I like Max Lucado, Adrian Plass, Bill Hybels, Joni Eareckson-Tada, Corrie Ten Boom and David Pawson's commentaries - among others. Maybe not all very deep or to everyone's taste; but they inspire me.

Maybe you could contact a Mod and get this moved to another section, where more people may see it.

Know any mods?

I believe book discussions are a wonderful tool that God uses to grow His people. Of course, we should always be reading and studying the Bible but it is perfectly fine to study good quality Chrisitan books.

I am an author and I spend my life being used of God to write material that will help people in their Christian growth.

Depending on how long you have been a Christian I would recommend different types of materials. Like for a new Christian I always recommend Neil Anderson's book "Victory Over Darkness" which is filled with Scripture and helps people understand who they are in Christ, the power they have in Christ, and what their redemption in Christ means for them.

If you or anyone else here on this forum would every like to do a book discussion with me on Victory Over Darkness or perhaps another book do not hesitate to send me a message via the forum's message system. I have known Jesus since 1977 and been in fulltime ministry since 1994 and have done many book discussion and Bible studies.

Please contact me anytime you would like.
