So far, as a conservative, I have been pleased.
Ever had a lover that you thought was “the one”? ...... only to find out later she you were being fleeced?

File that away for future reference.

He won't run opposed in the republican primaries, even the democrats will not dare oppose him.
Remember this time around the dems are purposely loosing so AOC can run!

People that voted for those candidates did not throw away their vote only those that decided to not vote did that. The "threw away their vote" nonsense is childish. People voting for whoever they prefer are being reasonable. People who insist that unless you vote for a major party candidate you abhor almost as n much as the other major party candidate refuse not take their convoluted logic to its obvious conclusion. That would be that if you voted for anyone that did not win them you threw your vote away. If Hitler was running against Stalin with a third party candidate that everyone agreed would not win, I think the reasonable thing to do would be to vote for that third party candidate.
That’s what I did.

Democratic candidates do not run against Republicans in primaries.

I looked it up.

"Trump is a conservative" is the first example under "oxymoron"

I think these states are counting on a 'womb boom' to offset the brain-drain they've been having these last few decades.

Only to counter the caravans of illegals that will form the next voter base for the other side.

I thought Trump was looking into all those illegal votes from the last time around.

What happened with that?

58,000 non-U.S. citizens may have voted in at least one election here, election official says

Update: Texas’ efforts to purge voter lists: Protect elections or suppress votes? And Nearly 20 percent of Tarrant voters flagged for citizenship scrutiny didn’t belong on list

Texas election officials said Friday that tens of thousands of people whose U.S. citizenship could not be confirmed cast ballots in one or more election in the state during the past 22 years.

Texas Secretary of State David Whitley said a year-long evaluation found about 95,000 people described as “non-U.S. citizens” who are registered to vote in Texas. About 58,000 of them voted in Texas elections between 1996 and 2018, Whitley said.

“Integrity and efficiency of elections in Texas require accuracy of our state’s voter rolls, and my office is committed to using all available tools under the law to maintain an accurate list of registered voters,” Whitley said.

It's also not lost on me the obvious mental preparations some are doing now to avoid the cognitive dissonance they'll feel next year when Trump loses bigly.

The democrats were the ones who should have done that last time, and ended up stunned when Clinton lost. Now it sounds like they're going to be overconfident in a victory for themselves once again, even though they don't have a nominee yet and the election is a year and a half away.

Make no mistake, Trump is the only viable conservative option for 2020.

The Christian Right and the rest of the Republican Party can no longer legitimately claim to be the political party of Christian morality and traditional family values if the only viable conservative option for them is a twice divorced admitted serial adulterer and womanizer (who is in his third marriage to his former mistress and who had an affair with a inappropriate content star and sexually groped multiple women).

Yes, I know...

(1) "We didn't vote for a Pastor!"

(2) "Don't judge him for his sins!"

(3) "Who among us is without sin?"

(4) "Trump was the lesser of two evils!"

(5) "His sins are between him and God!"

(6) "He didn't commit adultery in the White House!"

As I said before, this is the same political party who spent eight years morally outraged and pointing their judgmental finger at Bill Clinton for being an adulterer and a womanizer. And yet there are many conservatives rallying behind a man who could rival Bill Clinton in adulterous philandering and other sinful behavior. It's very curious how we never heard these particular excuses or any other excuses when Bill Clinton was still the President. We also didn't hear his sexual deviant behavior being called "LOCKER ROOM BANTER" or "MACHO TALK" either. It's interesting how all that moral conviction has changed within the Republican Party since Trump came along and started his political pandering.

Cause and effect.
There used to be a moral outrage in the days of Bill Clinton, but views quickly changed when Clinton found ways to justify himself, which then gave rise to the justification of such things shortly afterwards, especially by young adults.
We can blame Bill Clinton for leading us to the path that led us to Donald Trump.

I should have known that a liberal would be blamed for Donald Trump somehow. It does seem like it's always the liberals fault for many conservatives. It's as if Republicans aren't responsible for their own choices and they can't possibly be blamed for the mistakes they make. Go on, blame a Democrat.

Clinton either did what he did, and people responded accordingly, or it didn't happen. Or you can blame Trump as being what's wrong with the country and focus on him--ignoring everything else. But it's best to take a larger view of what has happened if you want to understand it and see where things will go from here.

So the morality of the right was nothing more then painted on sanctimony? If it can be discarded so easily....
