What if we got what we really deserved? Would that be a terrible or wonderful thing?
I think I know where we are going with this. What if we got what we really deserved? Would that be a terrible or wonderful thing?

Never never never. We never deserve salvation.God has given you the means of deserving salvation,
We do if we are the righteousness of God in Christ. Of course receiving the divine nature is a work of God where you merit counts for nothing. God is in the process of making you righteous, when you appear before God without blemish or spot, clothed in a righteousness not your own, with the church robed in the righteous deeds of the saints salvation is deserved. I understand that righteousness comes to the individual by grace through faith and on the last day only God will be glorified.Never never never. We never deserve salvation.
I just cannot agree with this. Salvation is of grace. There’s nothing about us that merits it. If we did, it wouldn’t be grace. We do if we are the righteousness of God in Christ. You either deserve salvation or you don't receive it and I'm not talking about conversion or sanctification. God makes his people worthy of salvation by changing their nature and perfecting them in mind, body and spirit. Salvation isn't just a time of decision or things that occur during the time of our sojourn here, it's a moment at final judgment. Being found in Christ, clothed in the righteousness of God in Christ, makes you worthy of salvation, even though there was nothing you could do to earn it.
Grace and peace,
Mark
There is nothing we can do to earn it, we don't achieve it we receive it, but in the final judgment we deserve it because Jesus made sure of it. Honestly I'm just shuffling the semantics here but there is a core point here worth making, if you don't deserve salvation you won't receive it.I just cannot agree with this. Salvation is of grace. There’s nothing about us that merits it. If we did, it wouldn’t be grace.
I think you need to shuffle back the other way. If you can’t earn it or work for it, then you don’t deserve it. The wages of sin is death. That’s what we earn and deserve. The gift (underserved) is eternal life. There is nothing we can do to earn it, we don't achieve it we receive it, but in the final judgment we deserve it because Jesus made sure of it. Yet that gift is salvation, that salvation is based on the righteousness of God in Christ and in the final judgment it's perfect. Jesus didn't need salvation, he always was and always will be righteous but here is the thing. It's not deserved because you merited it, or earned it or based on some works. It's deserved because it's something you become perfectly based on the completed work of Christ. Christ perfects you in the resurrection, the corruptible becomes incorruptible, even being a righteousness not your own salvation is still deserved because of what God makes you. Again, I'm not talking about justification or sanctification because that is a part of the process, I'm talking about what believers become on the last day.I think you need to shuffle back the other way. If you can’t earn it or work for it, then you don’t deserve it. The wages of sin is death. That’s what we earn and deserve. The gift (underserved) is eternal life.
And on the last day, we still don’t deserve it because it’s still a gift. Our perfection will still be based on what Christ did for us. Being perfect doesn’t merit us anything. I cannot believe that I will stand in God’s presence and say “I deserve this”.Yet that gift is salvation, that salvation is based on the righteousness of God in Christ and in the final judgment it's perfect. Of course I'm not going to say that but based on the completed work of Christ it will be true. And on the last day, we still don’t deserve it because it’s still a gift. It it’s true, why wouldn’t you say it?Of course I'm not going to say that but based on the completed work of Christ it will be true.
Because God is glorified on the last day and if your the righteousness of God in Christ it goes without saying. It it’s true, why wouldn’t you say it?
I think all truth is okay to proclaim. Jesus is the truth. So if we deserve (merit) to be there, it should be proclaimed.Because God is glorified on the last day and if your the righteousness of God in Christ it goes without saying.
