My dad went away from god a few years ago and since then he hasn't gotten back with god
any tips on how i should help him get back to god?

I think the best way is to let your light shine before him and model a godly attitude/ behavior before him.

Live out your life, following G-d as best you can. Make sure your life is an example of what a Christian should be.

In the mean time, pray strong prayers. Pray the G-d will do whatever he must, to bring your father back to the Lord. Pray and wait.

Generally speaking, unless you have an unusual relationship with your father, most parents do not want receive instruction by their children on topics like sex, money, or religion and morals.

Now I understand that you have no intention of lecturing your father, you just want to bring him back to the Lord. My experience is, that doesn't work to well. So generally advise that you pray that G-d will deal with your father, and bring him back, himself. Either pray that someone else, someone your father respects, will talk to him about the Lord, or that G-d will bring whatever troubles and trials are needed to bring him back.

So that is my advice.

Sometimes, people in their free will just choose to reject God. As God's servants, we are to put God first before our loved ones.

It is not easy, I know, but that is just what God requires of us.

I am the sole christian in my entire family.

so i should be putting god before my loved ones but still pray for him to get back with god?
also would it be alright for me to tell him about god about the good stuff etc about god for him to get back with him?

Of course you should tell him about God if you have the opportunity to do so. Just don't nag him about the subject if he isn't interested. That could create a barrier to his believing. And above all don't stop praying for him.
