You have yet to make the case that Iran is running "roughshod" over the US during prior administrations. Withdrawing from the nuclear deal was not a win for the US. To the contrary, Iran has now stated they will resume their nuclear enrichment activities. Just last week:

Iran's president says increased uranium enrichment will begin in 60 days if world powers don't shield it from U.S. sanctions, under the terms of the 2015 nuclear agreement.

Iran Says It Will Resume Some Activities It Had Halted Under Nuclear Deal

...and what is the Administration's response? Threaten war. Iran is no idiot. They know very well the U.S. has no appetite for another war in the Middle East.
I don't know. A lot of Americans are itching for war with Iran. Mainly those that don't have family members in the military.

Under the deal, there were provisions for in-country verification. Without the deal, there is zip.

I think you are missing the point here. How can you possibly justify murdering a whole bunch of Persians if you are allowed to effectively monitor their activity? The US IMC needed the US to pull out of the deal so that unfounded conjecture and fear could ramp up US citizenry acceptance of killing more Middle East people. For example, the content free stuff @crossnote posts.

Are you sure about that?

A MAJOR OIL PIPELINE IN Saudi Arabia was struck by armed drones and temporarily shut down, the kingdom's energy minister said Tuesday, calling the move an "act of terrorism and sabotage" that marks the second attack on the Saudi oil infrastructure in as many days.
..
The Yemeni military was not known to have developed armed drones, according to a global analysis by the think tank New America, making it likely the weapons were provided or operated by the rebels' patron, Iran.

Sadly, It sounds more like what we would do covertly if we wanted to escalate things into a war.

Should the U.S. just let Iran run roughshod over us and our interests like they did under Kerry and Obama?

Iran should absolutely be developing nuclear weapons technology, as we have shown that it is the only thing that will make us respect them as a nation.

This is demonstrated by how we treat Iran and Iraq vs how we treated North Korea.

Yes, there are a lot of good examples.

Basically any country we don't like we treat like crap and Trump was seen last making a fool out of himself trying to schmooze one of the worst dictators on the planet who is in control of a non-functional totalitarian regime, because they had nukes.

The foreign policy of Trump and Bolton will either end with Iran having nukes or a war and neither is a great idea.

Bolton and the neo-Cons gave us the unmitigated disaster that was Iraq. Why anyone their judgement on Iran (orher than Trump who doesn't know any better) is beyond me.

How many children of other people are you willing to donate to this war?

And who didn’t serve themselves. The Neocon Chickenhawks got us into the Iraq mess.

It's the price one pays for living in a country...any country.
Pacificism never kept a nation from losing their kids. Emotional appeal won't work here either.

How about a war before they get nukes..as in 'preventative measures'? Given Iran's history of terrorism, lying and deceit, do you think it's a good idea for them to have nukes?

The choice is not between pacifism and a necessary war. A war with Iran is nothing more than a fulfilment of neo-Con fever dreams cheered on by Conservatives who hate Iran only slighty less tah Hillary Clinton.

It's a fiasco waiting to happen and tge ramifications for generations to come are nightmarish to contemplate for who are thinking clearly.

Pacifism? How about just minding our own business?

Can you explain how our involvement logistically in the Saudi war in Yemen is in our national interest, and spares our children?

I would venture that US thinks that anyone else having a nukes is a bad idea. Unfortunately US has no legal right to forbid anyone from developing them nor enough superiority to enforce their will on global scale.

Also given thousands of nukes US has and the history of being the only nation to ever use them against cities this stinks of hypocrisy.
