I'm not Adventist and to show my naivete, when I saw ISO I thought photography.
Looking up ISO 8601 I was then reminded of...

Daniel 7:25 (KJV) And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Is this what this is about? (from the Adventist perspective)

To the best of my knowledge, ISO 8601 has numbered days of the week with Monday as day 1 since it was made a standard in 1988. This makes sense for business and industry, since Monday is normally the first business or work day of the week.

No thought was given to societal usage outside of business. I now see calendars that start the week with Monday, and they are a little confusing. If those eventually become the standard, I think both Sabbath Day and Resurrection Day worshipers will be somewhat disturbed by it.

There is an update to ISO 8601 scheduled for release this March. To clarify the subject of this thread, can someone tell us if this update somehow makes the Monday equals one interpretation more prominent? I assume Christians will never be affected directly by ISO 8601, but re-ordering the week days on calendars will certainly muddy the waters for us.

What is the Biblical evidence that this is an important issue. Jesus said if your ox falls in a well then you can pull it out on the Sabbath. The 4th commandment says not to work your slaves or your ox on the Sabbath. Jesus said "the Sabbath was made for man"

Our there any other verses on this? What about those people who work 2 or 3 jobs just to pay rent? Are they concerned about what day the Sabbath is on or do they just want a day off once every couple of weeks?
