Fifty-three percent of Americans said they have a favorable view of former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. — the highest among seven 2020 Democratic presidential candidates Gallup tested last month.

People were more split on Sen. Bernard Sanders, with 46 percent reporting a favorable view and 45 percent reporting an unfavorable view in the survey, releasedWednesday.

Both Mr. Biden and Mr. Sanders were also seen favorably by about three-quarters of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents.

 I guess by 'favorable view' that means 'would vote for.' It's hard to see a stop sign in my town right now for all the 'help wanted' signs... and 53% want to go back to that old game, regardless of who the Dems run. Oh well, it's understandable that liberals want more handouts, but why the never Trump republicans want to go back to crying the sky is falling, getting made fools of by other countries, and being taxed heavily again is beyond me.

Thank God for the Never Trump Republicans. There may still be hope for the Republican Party after all and maybe these Republicans can salvage what's left of their party's credibility and reputation. As a liberal myself, I won't be voting for Biden for two reasons. The first reason why I won't vote for him is unpopular and the second is he's apparently a dirty old man and reminds me of Trump in that regard.

Joe would probably be better than Bernie. Joe is really old though, so it would be wise for him to pick a younger and competent running mate.

Why, he only has to follow the orders of his big campaign donors and that takes no competence.

Honestly the only thing I remember and think of with Joe Biden is his relationship with Obama. Twitter was constantly talking about their friendship with memes, jokes and well wishes. I read the article where he received an award and was clearly touched by the gesture. At this point I'm not going to bother researching politics of any of the candidates further until I know for sure who will be eventually running. We still have awhile.

Joe is doing what seems like the sensible thing which is stake out as much of the center as possible and do so as early as possible. Candidates holding with fringe positions in the primary will largely abandon them in the general election.

The problem for him is the base.
