Sunday: the Sun's Day. Sunday is the seventh day of the week according to the international standard ISO 8601. However, many countries, including the US, Canada and Japan, count Sunday as the first day of the week. Sunday is named after the Sun. The seventh day of the week is the Sun's day.

The Jews say the sabbath is on Saturday. Does it matter what day of the week the Sabbath is?
As long as it is consistently the same day.

"The Sabbath was made for man right?"

Nothing against the Jews, i just see it is as an arbituary issue.

But if one of them has to be picked, the one on which Christ rose from the grave would be a reasonable choice, wouldn't it?...irrespective of the name?

Not sure that it matters really. I've never thought that my ability to worship G-d as I see fit, required the rest of the world to follow suit.

So I can't possibly imagine a reason why Jews would care what the rest of the world does.

It just doesn't seem all that useful to worry about which day. Am I somehow going to be more spiritual if I go on one day over another? Nah.

Not according to every calendar published.

Why do you say that? Different nations or countries probably print different calendars. And the way it is positioned on the calendar is not a biblical concept. Jesus isn't going to hold us accountable due to such a thing. This whole business of people saying we should celebrate the sabbath on the 6th day instead of Sunday is superflous.

I'm not saying as Christians we have to keep the Old Testament Sabbath at all; I'm saying Saturday is the Sabbath. Always was, always will be. Those who want to keep the law need to keep the Sabbath, as it was the sign of the Old Covenant. Christians are under the New Covenant of the Spirit, and the sign of the New Covenant is the Cup in the Lord's Supper that represents the blood of Jesus by which we are made righteous. The Old Law couldn't make anyone righteous, because the sin nature was in tact. We are born again of the Spirit and have been freed from the old sin nature. When we put our trust in Jesus and follow Him, we enter into God's true rest. Sunday is a day of celebration, not law. If Jesus never rose from the dead, His sacrifice wouldn't have been accepted, and we would still die in our sins. But we celebrate His resurrection on the first day of the week, and will enjoy eternity with Christ.

How can saturday be the sabbath if it's the 6th day of the week? In the old testament the Sabbath was the 7th day. Genesis chapters 1 and 2.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, SATURDAY, Sunday.

Its been Saturday for thousands of years. Go to Jerusalem if you want to know and keep the Old laws. Don't you know that it is antichrist to want to change times and laws?

There was a time i believed that specific notion about the anti christ. Now i'm definite thats not the case. Some say the mark of the christian is love and in fact not the sabbath.

However:
"the sabbath was made for man"

If we named the sixth day of the week fruitday instead of Saturday it would still be the 6th day of the week. Personally i think its all arbituary which is why it should stay on Sunday.

Are you under the Old Covenant or the New Covenant? That will determine whether you should keep one day a week, instead of EVERYDAY.

I believe the 4th commandment is important for protecting McDonald's workers. Having worked retail and at restaurants for quite a while and seeing people work 2 or 3 jobs to pay rent: I would argue its imperative some form of the 4th commandment be up held for our servants and the poor.

That's politics. Are you a new Christian? You are looking at the physical, just like the Old Covenant laws. A Christian lives higher than the mere physical to the spiritual meaning behind the old laws.

thats not politics whatsoever. Jesus Christ very much dealt with the practical world. The 4th commandment is practical just like all the other commandments. Jesus said whoever dismisses one tiddle of the law will be the lowest in the kingdom of God. Much of the old testament was perhaps to specific to the ancient Israelites but it was all practical. One law describes how to naturally produce a disinfectant soap like substance called lye. Anti bacterial substances are practical.

John 15:10
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

What commandments did Jesus describe as "My commandments"? What did He preach?

: “Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:19).
