The a fetus cannot be considered a citizen.
The fetus does not need to be a citizen to be protected by the 14th Amendment. Non-citizens are protected by our laws as well. Congress can set the conditions and definitions of the provisions of the 14th Amendment.

Amendment XIV
Section 1.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Section 2.
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several states according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each state, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such state, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such state.

Section 3.
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Section 4.
The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any state shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

Section 5.
The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

A mother should always give up her life for her unborn child.
The unborn child life is more important than the mothers. The mother should as the grown up automatically give up her life if it means the child will survive.

This statement is offensive and demeanng to every mother on this forum who has a different opinion. How dare you say that two days after Mother's Day!

And what is wrong with leaving that decision up to the pregnant woman?

Most women especially the young women dont realise what they are doing when they kill the life inside them.. and suffer later for that terrible decision. It is a protection for them to stop them having to carry responsibility for taking life for the rest of their life (and stops grief for their families as well believe me it is a terrible grief). no one should have to carry that agony, yet we let teenagers who are too young to get a tattoo make a decision quickly about killing their babies it's crazy.
Also I believe the fathers should also have a say in whether the child is killed or not. the fathers have no rights or say sadly which is wrong.

True, but the 14th Amendment makes it clear that they cannot be citizens.

Then why do parents without thinking race to push a child out of the way of a car and get hit by the car instead saving their child?

it's natural for a mother to want to protect and look out for the children. it is the right order of things laying down their life for their child. weirdly except when the child is at it's most vulnerable in the womb.

society is so warped now and has so lost sight of God we think we are more important than anyone else. I I I is all that matters.

I know grandparents who grieve terribly the loss of their aborted grandchild.

But not all women do. Do we force women to do something against their will because some women might retreat their decision?

yes, so that babies can be adopted to people who cant have babies. there are incredibly long lists of adoptive parents who are waiting for babies for years while thousands of babies are killed every day by being aborted.

pregnancy is a natural bodily function, most run smoothly. but I guess it's better to kill a baby than get stretch marks.
There can be terrible complications from abortions that no one tells you about as well. inability to carry future pregnancy to term, increased risk of breast cancer etc etc.

You are looking at only one side of the coin. What about all those teenage girls who can't take care of the baby growing inside and, because of their age, can't get rid of them either? Girls are able to get pregnant before they can drive. You open a big can of worms if you want a girl with a medical condition to have an unborn baby take over her life.

Girls are able to get pregnant before they can drive. You open a big can of worms if you want a girl with a medical condition to have an unborn baby take over her life.

'get rid of them', such caring Christlike words..
adoption!!! is an option.

I would not use that phrase for myself, but that likely is how people who choose adoption feel about it.

yet you used it.

But they mercifully choose adoption which means the baby is not killed horribly. It is right to not take life.

what if the man wants to keep his baby alive but the woman wants to kill it... the woman gets to kill it anyway. pro choice gives her the right to take away the fathers right to keep his baby. neat aye.
