I've never thought about God as someone to be "enjoyed". Even the hymn you're quoting says as much.

- The Lord understands everything about me and still loves me. He understands how I feel.
- Living by myself, having His presence with me so I never feel alone.

The simple truth is that 'Our Goal is God,Himself..' Joy,peace and happiness follows,but is not our primary goal! God is and He is to be enjoyed,not endured.

I most enjoy God's faithfulness. This quality is very important to me and only God is completely faithful. I enjoy God's faithfulness both as a doctrine and in personal experience.

I enjoy the company of my brothers and sisters in Christ. We have fellowship with one another, help and support each other in the faith, encourage one another, carrying each others burdens.

I also see the people in the world around me in the world who are loved by God and made in his image. They are very special people with their own unique personalities, talents and abilities. May God bless them and draw them to Himself, and show them the way to Christ.

What I really enjoy is travelling a long distance, or browsing the world wide web, and talking to a complete stranger who turns out to be your brother or sister in Christ. Very quickly you see how much you share in common and it turns out you are no longer strangers to one another and you have been united with your family.

This is PROFOUND. Yes, it is God HIMSELF that is our hearts desire, irregardless of blessings, favor, and ANYTHING else. There's a quote about this that i've done lost, or i'd post it.
