OK - so I love AFR. In listening to the podcast Imputed Righteousness, he mentions another podcast where he explores salvation by love as opposed to the western, transactional type of description. I think both are by Matthew Gallatin. Does anyone know what the podcast he is referring to that describes salvation by love vs. transaction?

So I think you're referring to this series: Imputed Righteousness | Ancient Faith Ministries

Since this is all apparently a subset of his "Pilgrims from Paradise" "pod"-cast, I would imagine it's an earlier episode of that "pod"-cast. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar enough with the 2007 back catalog of that series to know which episodes he might be referring to and AFR does not keep all episodes of all "pod"-casts for that long. So, by the way, this means that if you have somebody you want to listen to, download all their stuff and keep it, because it may not be around in a couple years!

I poked around - it's no longer directly linked to on AFR, but you can still find episodes on feedburner! http://feeds.ancientfaith.com/PilgrimsFromParadise Not sure which episode you want, but you can download them all or look at descriptions and try to figure it out.

I've studied imputation of righteousness for years vs. actual infused righteousness. Imputation is simply declaration and transfer legally speaking. Martin Luther's bread and butter was this topic. For Luther, through grace we are not actually transformed. That is what Orthodoxy and Catholicism say. The Orthodox and Catholic faiths say that there actually IS a life-changing transformation. Our sins are quite literally taken away. We are cleansed, sanctified, changed. If our sin comes back to us, it is because of our own actions within our free will. So, grace can transform and mold us. For Martin Luther, he said we are totally indelibly engulfed in sin. We are depraved and wholly swallowed by sin. Therefore, God takes His own righteousness, that of His Son Jesus, and clothes us in it. He COVERS our ugly sin natures and we are then looked upon as holy though we ARE NOT. It is juridical courtroom drama. God looks at filthy humanity and sees only His Son. Imputation is a covering, a cloaking, a hiding. It is a courtroom declaration, nothing more. God gives us credit for something we didn't do or earn. Luther says humans are all filthy piles of dung covered in a lovely wedding dress. Quite stark and depressing when compared with the Orthodox vision of inner change, transformation, becoming something better, and God being a nurturing Father who wants us to grow toward Him in theosis.

not only that, but if God goes from seeing us as filthy sinners to holy in the image of His Son, but we remain sinners, then God is the one Who changes and not us.

I'd better get busy.

I went looking for Our Life In Christ - I like to listen to the Prayer of St. Ephraim series every year (didn't finish this year). I finally found it, but it's not listed in AFR archives on my app like it used to be.

I need to figure out how to download and store stuff. There's a good bit I wouldn't want to lose access to.

I didn't realize they wouldn't keep it all.

I used to download episodes of OLIC, from their website, back before there was an AFR (I think)

The OLIC's own archive page is here:

@~Anastasia~ Just looked.... the podcasts ARE on the page I posted the link for, above.. If you didn't find them at AFR
Thanks! I remember Steve said once that their podcasts were all truncated on that page and so never listened from there, but I think they had someone fix them. I need to look into it - after this week lol.

There is a lot on AFR I wouldn't want to lose, but OLIC is particularly good to answer the questions of some people IMO, since they often use so much explanation from Scripture. It certainly helped me.

Thanks!!!

Yes I see a LOT of work in my future too lol.

I want not only so many podcasts, but I need to organize some chanting if I can find what I'm looking for.

If you can find a page where all the episodes are listed, just manually download them one-by-one into a folder! Or install an extension in your web browser that will download them all automatically (search for something like 'downloader'). But even doing it manually is a good use of your time - do it while you're listening to an episode or something.
