CNN is reporting that former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld had made it official. He will run for the Republican Presidential nomination. It might be interesting to see how much of a protest vote he is able to obtain in the Republican primaries against the President.

Just by him challenging the elected and undisputed President of America and Leader of the Free World shows that this potential usurper is nothing more than a Soros funded Deep State plant by Hillary and Obama to divide the United Republican Party and America as well as causing more international strife that these rabble rousers prefer. Our leader will persevere as foretold in scripture.

It's good to have debate, that's part of a healthy democracy.

And, Trump is shaking in his boots. He probably said the same thing I did, "who the blue haze is Bill Weld?" LOL

LOL I'm sure Trump knew in 2016 who he is, unless he pretends to have forgotten now.

I will be surprised if Weld even stays in it until the Republican Convention of 2020.

I agree, but I'm not sure of your point.

Weld has zero chance. The point is to publicly oppose the president, his actions and what he has done to the party. I don't expect him to last past the first couple of months of primaries through March. He'll get his platform for almost a year. Perhaps the press will give him enough coverage for him to continue after that, but I doubt it. After all, he will have almost zero delegates, since Republicans decide on a winner take all basis, almost always.

The open question is whether he can do any harm in NH in Feb and on Super Tuesday in March.

I will be surprised if Weld even stays in it until the Republican Convention of 2020.

I don’t think he gets far but I do think he has a chance to last a little while. If he can do damage in NH (which I think he has a real chance to do) he can make Trump at least put up a token run against him in the following primaries. Ultimately he will fail but he can at least force Trump to spend some time getting the Republican nomination.

As I said in another post, I agree. he might due damage in NH and on Super Tuesday in March.

As an aside, anyone is free to vote in the Republican primary in NH. Democrats could do considerable mischief by ignoring their party contest and voting for Weld.
