Many called it 'Black Friday'. It was such a day of suffering for our sin and shame. To us who believe,it was 'Good Friday,a day when our sins were washed away in the Blood of Calvary!

If there be any (God forbid), who would dare disagree, the need for repentance for that one would rise with just how important a statement such as this could ever be said!!

Tuck this one away as your classic all-time title-holder! :) Thank you brother!

One of the earliest memories I had at Sunday school, long before I personally came to faith, was taking part in the Stations of the Cross. We would walk around the church and stop, reflect and pray at different stages about the events leading up to Jesus's crucifixion. Even as a youngster, I always felt very moved by it all, and it made me wonder how Jesus must have felt in those last hours.

I'm told to expect that this Good Friday, there will be no host in the tabernacle or in the monstrance, nor will there be any holy water in any of the numerous founts, including the baptismal basin.

the altar will be stripped bare, the cross will be veiled with black cloth

everything will be covered up in black cloth to remind us of what it would be like if jesus was dead.

we are encouraged to wear somber colors

there is no holy communion during the service

I'm thinking of wearing all black as this is the time when Jesus is crucified and died

I'm looking forward to Good Friday. We always have a Good Friday service at our church with communion. We will celebrate the love and goodness of the Lord' in dying for our sins and rising on the third day!

Christ crucified for us, the Lamb of God...The magnitude of His sacrifice I think can be so hard put into words at time. Today is a goo day to be in His presence as much as we can, worshiping, praising and reflecting on what He has done for all of us.

Walking up to church for Reflections at the Cross. A silent time of prayer and reflection interspersed with readings from scripture and contemplative music.
