Well it’s not my faith and I don’t know much about it so..... I have met voodoo practicing people in NYC so I tend to think of it as a faith I just don’t share - like Judaism

Witchcraft and divination were legitimate practices in the biblical times, and God did not for a moment allow us to doubt the real nature of them. The fact that a pagan named Balaam was able to communicate with God, though a diviner by trade, is strange enough. Samuel being called from the dead by King Saul? Creepy. These were real things, and God had us not follow them. Demonic would be one word I describe it.

Is Satan able to use such? Definitely.

I don't believe curses can rest on the Christian, or even the elect who has not yet been saved (I could be wrong).

Stay away it from it is my advice.

Hi Family,

Do you feel the enemy, through the use of Voodoo(i am being general), has any power?

Does God allow curses to rest on Christians?

As Spirit filled Christians, what can we do to protect ourselves?

~Natsumi Lam~

I highly recommend listening to the testimony of former Satanist John Ramirez..... I feel that he is telling the truth..... and that he was able to put curses on many Christians while he was practicing witchcraft / Satanism......

Voodoo isn’t witchcraft . Katherine Dunham the dancer was a voodoo priestess . Like Wicca it just isn’t an abrahamic faith
I think it's important to note that witchcraft is a category of sin, it includes the practices of wicca, but wicca does not own the term witchcraft. If wiccans take exception, I use the word sorcery instead which means the same thing.

Hi Family,

Do you feel the enemy, through the use of Voodoo(i am being general), has any power?

I’m sure it does for the people who follow it. Not being somebody who practices Voodoo, it has no power for me or over me. So if somebody wants to try and put a Voodoo curse on me, they can knock themselves out.

Does God allow curses to rest on Christians?

Not being God, I can’t answer that. I’m sure curses exist and people feel they are impacted by them, but I don’t know if God “allows” it any more than he “allows” any other bad thing that happens to us.

As Spirit filled Christians, what can we do to protect ourselves?

Have faith.

Voodoo is a form of witchcraft that draws on entities that are like ancient death gods, prior to ancestor worship type religions. Since we already have a certain degree of death within our bodies, these entities can draw this out further to make the practitioner feel invigorated. Voodoo is more than curses, but as with other forms of sorcery, it has a cost to the user that is not explained, it is implied and the fee will be paid.

When dealing with death spirits, the resurrection power of Jesus Christ is as good as it gets. Faith matured to surrender usually is required if there is a sustained assault.

How does spiritual warfare relate?

I don’t believe in spiritual warfare as a concept. In order for there to be a war, there has to be two or more factions butting heads. If I know or believe something has no power over me because of my faith in God, like a Voodoo curse against me, there is no need to “war” over it.

do you know anything about the religion or are you reacting to old fashioned superstitious beliefs . I know people worship other gods but because I don’t know anything about that faith I’m not going to do the same thing medieval Christians did to Baphomet. They called it a demon when it’s was originally just a mispronunciation of Mohammed

Your faith may very well render you immune to the effects of the spiritual war going on around us but that does not mean the war is not happening.

Case in point - an elder of my church who was a returned missionary from Indonesia, who had learned to deal with all sorts of spiritual issues effecting the locals up there, took a woman who was seeking God into his house in Christchurch. She was hearing voices and was quite disturbed. Shortly after the phone rang and the voice on the other end said "she's not yours, she's ours..." The voice was the same as what she was hearing in her head. The elder then knew the nature of her problem and dealt with it accordingly in Jesus name.

Some are gifted to be more aware of this realm than others.

Blessings,

Carl Emerson.
