Mt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

I would invite you reading this to look up all the references to "soul" Jesus was referring to. To determine the role of emotions in our lives of worship. Soul

If the heart is corrupt and wicked, the soul is nothing but an animal, and the mind an enemy of God .. yet Jesus says love God with all these things ... Then a balanced approach to redemption of corrupted things is required.

God can inhabit our emotions, the question is: What does this feel like for you?

Is there a feeling associated with having the Holy Spirit inside of you? I mean a literally feeling in your body, like one you would get after drinking alcohol.
At times, people have reported feelings of tingling and the like.

It's important to remember that (A) religious euphoria is easy to mistake for something else and (B) the workings of the Holy Spirit are not necessarily always big, ecstatic expressions of something or other.

I say this because I sometimes get the idea that people think the workings of the Holy Spirit are like the Force in Star Wars or something.

Nothing like drinking alcohol. It’s pure Peace that passeth all understanding. When I have experienced what I think of as total saturation in The Holy Spirit, I would describe it as feeling heavy as in weight in The Spirit. The Perfect Love described in The Bible can only be experienced in The Spirit as far as I know. I should add that I’m now aware of miracles The Good Lord Jesus The Christ has performed when I’ve was filled.

I think associated feelings are different for different people. I'm a base line sort of guy, I rarely (I can't remember) feel extremes. However, immediately after getting out of water baptism, I most definitely felt heat emanating from the centre of my body outwards to the extremities. Other times I felt tingling up and down (briefly) up the spine, neck and head.

I know of a woman that after prayers and laying of hands to receive the Holy Spirit, had symptoms like being drunk. Not briefly, it lasted a few days, her family got scared because she wasn't sure where she was or what her plans were in the next few days, she was supposed to fly back home to her country of origin. She didn't get back to "normal" until after then. This response is unusual I think.

The bottom line that we ought not forget, as the old adage goes:
It's not how high you go (or jump), it's how straight you walk afterwards.

Kind of like an inner electric force that if, strong enough, can make your whole body tingle. I feel it in church sometimes, sometimes particular Sunday mornings you can just feel something different. It's not just emotions, because that wouldn't affect everyone at the same time in different parts of the building. Some are in the back making coffee, some are in the church service, some are in the nursery, but they all seem to be feeling that difference that morning. It's not the weather, either, because it can be the gloomiest winter day and feel like that.

For myself, I get warm inside and sometimes slightly tingly and the Word seems more piercing and direct than most of the time. Like the words of the preaching or music seem directed right to me.

Yes, I agree you can definitely have the Holy Spirit without any feeling at all, aside from fruits like joy and peace, etc. It's a big mistake to assume you don't have the Holy Spirit if you aren't feeling something amazing all the time.

On one occasion as a teenager, I was in bed at night praying and interceding for my church and community and suddenly I was filled with this crazy feeling of joy and grief all mixed together - crying and then laughing. I think that may have been a manifestation of the Spirit working on my heart, but I'm still unsure about that. It was weird... Maybe it was just teenage hormones. ^_^

To paraphrase ST. Paul, we walk by faith, not by sight, and still less by feeling.

NOWHERE does the Bible associate ANY feeling with having the Holy Spirit.

fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, etc.... these may have an action associated with them but are also interconnected with feelings as well. What about boldness is it a feeling? because the disciples got a dose of boldness from the spirit after they prayed for it.

O
In my experience most of the time I don't feel him inside me I just trust that he's there. But occasionally I felt him physically. I sometimes used to feel a pressure on my head as I prayed as though someone's hand was on me. And another time on a crowded bus as I considered his presence I spoke to him in my head and told him I knew he was near me and was he sitting next to me? He wasn't. Was he standing next to me? He wasn't. Well where are you Lord I asked and a tingling began in my toes and worked right up my body to my head. I couldn't keep the big smile off my face that cold, wet October day , and almost laughed out loud as I realised he was telling me he was within me. A remarkable experience.
One recent experience that I will share that I haven't shared with anyone. A few weeks ago, I was laying in bed and I was talking with theLord. I was praying that he would crucify what was left in me that was not of him. At that moment, I began feeling sharp like pains going through the palms of my hands. It wasn't excruciating but it was the pain that could be described as something sharp being driven through a sensitive place in the body. It wasn't a physical pain but a spiritual that could only be described in physical terms. Needless to say, some refinement has ensued and has shown me some things in my heart.

I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this kind of thing, but it's true.

Boldness is more of a Spiritual platform. The feelings that stem from it are peace and love and compassion which brings forth a natural affection and emotional response. Boldness is akin to steadfast like state of Truth.

Oh, also, when I'm sharing or defending my faith, it feels like boldness kind of washes over me and despite remaining calm and composed, I'm actually trying not to shake with all the energy that wants to leap out of me. I'm a super-timid person generally, like hiding my face in the corner kind of timid. so I would say that's a work of the Spirit, and emotions are simply connected to it.

I had a feeling once when I was first saved, it was like a powerful burst of energy, electricity. But since then I have had no experiences, or feelings, I do feel a inner nudge to do certain things, like a tugging with in me to witness, or share Jesus at certain times. And some times an awareness of God, like I know he is listening to my prayer, but generally I feel nothing.

When the holy spirits fills you, i say you can feel it, he feels very nice and soft, and has a 'supernatural' feel too, something hard to describe, but it is unlike and better of anything else.

Depends.

If you are walking in God's will, the Holy Spirit is closer than a brother,it's a warm embrace.
But if you are not walking in God's will, Holy Spirit's conviction burns like coals.

I general, peace and a subtle happiness. Of course, I don't have this feeling so much over having the Holy Spirit as feeling the Holy Spirit is content with me. When I feel I have sinned, I feel very uncomfortable with the thought of the Holy Spirit being in me until I repent.

Then you have never had the holy spirit enter into you then.

Dont tell me how it fells, I know, I have had the holy spirit enter into me many times.

Its like telling a licensed builder how to build.

The truth is it is like electricity entering into you with the feeling of love and fullness and truth.
If you never felt this, then all I can say is when you praise God fully in praise with all your heart, the spirit of God will enter into you and you will fully fell it happen.
Yes truth but no electrical currents.
Blessings

Yes, I have had a feeling from the Holy Spirit, but it's not from Him entering me. He already lives in me. I can feel greater joy than I would have expected from doing something right, and I can feel my heart sink if maybe I want Him to go away, or I feel a sharp rebuke when I do (or am about to do) something really sinful and stupid. Sometimes I feel being told something that's neither right nor wrong--it's just something I'm supposed to do, for some reason I don't know about.

True joy is rooted in our spirit from the new birth, it's not a body sensation. It's not afected by circumstances either.

It is a bodily felling, I know, I have been filled with the spirit many times, every time, its a bodily experience. You fell complete love and pureness and truth. And you whole body is mingled with a electric charge not of this world.

Your telling born again Christians who has been filled with the spirit something other then what we know and have felt.
