I have really enjoyed the work of Tim Keller. He planted a Presbyterian church in New York City, and his ministry was focused on calling the members of the secular, highly-educated, wealthy, white-collar "elites" to faith in Jesus Christ. As such, his material strives to engage with the philosophical underpinnings of that deeply secular culture. His work was instrumental in my own conversion.

While I do not agree with your selections, thank you for answering.

May God bless you this fine day.

Just out of curiosity, can you name the people I posted that you reject and why?

Jesus.
There's no one better.

(though He might not have the 'qualifications' or might not meet the definition of 'Christian' ? )

fwiw, (I did not read any posts but the op so far) (so did not see any recommendations),

an internet test, judgment, search results of the most popular "teachers" in media/ tv/ internet/ since 1948 reveals most are apostate and gives the reasons biblically, if you search enough.
Obviously, most people are astonished and many very vehemently deny that their 'teacher' or one they like is actually apostate/ a false teacher, but their reactions only show more so ....

All the big names, the superstars of Christendom, are corrupt.
As written in Scripture, yes. (and some of those you recommended also).
Thus, test everything - even if an Apostle or an appearance of an angel/messenger of light/ delivers a message, do not accept it until it is proven true in line with all Scripture, as Scripture says. Most prove false.

Just to prove your comment, I saw a survey by "PEW" which asked the question to 2000 Christian minister in the USA in 2015...……….
"Do you believe in the physical 2nd Coming of Christ".

48% said NO!

Amen, and further, just sad to see what their answer (and life) is when asked
if they obey / follow/ Jesus today. Almost all say no ...... Including one of the most popular already named ones (I think by one of your posts I glanced over after I posted) who is widely acclaimed in the usa and on this forum.... he passed away recently. People are devastated, with good reason, when they find out.... many on this forum refuse to even look into it.

I posted …………..
Dr. Magee, or Dr. Oliver Green and certainly Dwight Pentecost, Billy Graham and John Walvrood.

I would say that John Piper is excellent as is Dr. John Sullivan.

I believe you are referring to Billy Graham as he passed away last year.

These were/are not just men who did something good. They were examples of Christianity who showed to everyone who knew them the very basic Bible teaching of Christianity 101....."LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU"!!!!

I am old enough and blessed enough to have sat under the teaching of a couple of those men and may I saw to you that it was like the apostles when they sat at the feet of Jesus as He taught them.

It shouldn't be a surprise when a nation values it's principles over those of the Kingdom, happily building a new Rome instead.

What is a surprise, a devastating and embarrassing surprise, is when people who are called Christian value emotional messages INSTEAD OF TRUTH, and millions follow false teachers because their ears feel good ('tickled' as Scripture says),
as in the untied states since the 1940's at least. Right on thru to today - even with 'popular' televised persons ADMITTING they follow a different gospel (a false gospel) ! ! ! .....

Never-the-less, simply test, test , test, relying on and trusting the Father, to be kept free, or to become free, from the false "feel good" (and other) gospel(s).

Or as God says in 2 Timothy 4:1-5 …………..
"I charge thee therefore before God, and the LORD Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."

Indeed.

One reason I ask is that there is no one out there who believes exactly like I do.

Second reason is that I am also curious as to what other posters will say.

Do you know for sure nobody shares all of your Christian beliefs? There are over 2.42 billion Christians on Earth, depending on whether or not Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Christian Scientists are counted. Feel free to list your religious beliefs and compare them to what other CF members believe. On that topic, mine do not perfectly match any denomination because they are a mix and match group of beliefs.

The one whose work I follow closest is probably Jimmy Akin.

Bishop Robert Barron has a warm and engaging style which is insightful to mature Christians and informative to younger ones.

I have been a Christian for a good while. I have looked for a certain group of believers who believe like me here in the States. There is only one church that appears to be for holiness that is essential part of the salvation process (that seems to be truly serious about that). Unfortunately, they are in other states (far away from me).

Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church: Christ's Sanctified Holy Church-Holiness unto the Lord

But, I have yet to truly learn more about them first hand. I also believe that the concept of gathering in a big building (with one man leading always) is not exactly biblical, either. But I am willing to let that slide if they help attendees to evangelize on the streets, help the poor, pray for others, and to love all people (Including their enemies); And they do not encourage others to chase after riches, etc.

I doubt that the church I am interested in visiting or attending every once in a while agrees with my other views on the Bible, as well.

I also believe that the Bible teaches:

#1. Dualistic Conditional Immortality (This is the belief that there is a real hell, but after the Judgment, wicked men will be destroyed (or erased from existence) in the lake of fire).
#2. New Testament Nonresistance.
#3. Noah and Ham's Story is not the one most know about.
#4. Hosea did not marry a woman who was already a prostitute.
#5. There are three kinds of wines in the Bible, and Jesus made unfermented (non-intoxicating) wine as a part of his miracle at the wedding in Cana.
#6. The faithful saints who die in the Lord today go to Abraham's Bosom; after the Pre-Trib Rapture, saints who live after and die after this event will go directly to Heaven.
#7. There will be a Pre-Trib Rapture, and a Mid-Trib Rapture.
#8. One grievous sin (like lust, lying, hate, etc.) can separate a believer from God if it is not confessed (or repented of).
#9. Cessationism of the Miraculous Gifts (Not the ceasing of all the gifts, and not the ceasing of miracles from God in general).
#10. Baptism is not done as a part of our salvation.
#11. Dragons are real fire breathing creatures (as mentioned in the Bible).
#12. God created everything in six literal 24 hour days.

Since a lot of your theology is NOT Biblical, maybe you should think about starting your own religion and see how many converts you can attract.

1. Not Biblical.
2. Not Biblical.
3. I have no idea what you are talking about.
4. Not Biblical.
5. What difference does that make?
6. Not Biblical.
7. Not Biblical.
8. Not Biblical.
9. AGREED! There is not one single Scripture that validates Continuation of sign gifts.
10. AGREED!
11. Not Biblical.
12. AGREED!

Now with all due respect to you, you said that you believed in "Fire Breathing Dragons" (#11). You also said you believed God created everything in 6 literal days (#12),

That means those FIRE breathing dragons had to have been on the Ark.

Now the question you must think about and answer is this. How and why did those FIRE breathing dragons NOT BURN DOWN THE ARK????

Also, if you would like to talk about your beliefs with me, I would be glsd to do so but only ONE at a time.

My Pastor, I personally prefer, as a standard, the study of specific books of scripture as opposed to changing subject teaching. We are going through the book of John...he started in 2016 and is presently at John 17. ( A few sermons on other subjects throughout the year but predominately John) I also was able to take advantage of various classes on theology that he offers (Moody College courses), further he is open to various views on peripheral issues.
